Percy's pov
Fuck.
Nico's eyes widened and he shoved Percy away from him, making
Percy stumble slightly.
He turned to meet Leo Valdez, who was staring with eyes as wide as saucers.
"Wait. Are you guys like..."? He asked beaming.
"No. We're not. Fuck off, Leo" Nico growled as he pulled away from Percy, brushing dust off of his jeans.
Percy's heart sank at how defensive Nico sounded.
Percy nodded anyway.
"Yeah, it was an accident. He helped me get up and I almost fell into him. I caught him, though, chaos aborted".
Nico suddenly became very interested in his black converse.
Leo raised an eyebrow.
"Oookay" he said suspiciously narrowing his eyes at Percy, who just gave him a awkward forced smile in response.
Nico paused his music, shoving it back into his pocket quickly, then grabbed his sword and jogged out the door.
Leo watched him go, then turned to Percy.
"Percy-" he began.
"I don't want to hear it" Percy said in a dangerously low voice.
"Just let me-"
"No".
Leo sighed.
"Please"?
Percy scowled at him.
"Fine", he said, exasperated. "What".
"You don't have to tell me, but I want you to know, that I promise I won't tell anyone. But..." Leo shifted on his feet and looked to the ground, then back up at Percy.
"You like him, right"?
Percy blushed.
"No".
Leo raised his eyebrows.
"You sure about that, Percy? I mean you guys just spent almost six hours training together, and I walked in on you almost kissing. I'm not going to judge, but dude, I can tell".
"How"...? Percy asked, tilting his head.
"Gaydar" Leo replied with a shrug.
Percy blushed.
"I... do you promise to not tell anyone? Like you promise?"
Leo nodded. "I promise".
Percy blushed and looked away.
"Fine. I have a teensy tiny bit of a crush on him" he scratched his neck.
Leo smirked. "Knew it".
