Cody Rhodes watched in amused disbelief as you darted through the aisles of the bookstore, grabbing armfuls of novels and stacking them in your cart. "What have I done?" he muttered under his breath, shaking his head with a smile. You were in your element, practically glowing with excitement as you filled up box after box.
By the time you both got home, the back of the car was stuffed with your precious books. Cody looked at the boxes stacked in the living room and sighed. "That's... a lot," he said, trying to hide his amusement.
"My books!" you squealed, rushing to unpack them with glee. Cody could only chuckle at your enthusiasm.
Later that night, you sat on the floor, carefully organizing your new collection. You were so focused that you didn't even notice Cody walk into the room. "Jey's coming over to hang out," Cody said, kissing your cheek.
You nodded absentmindedly, still lost in your book arrangement. "Hi, Jey," you mumbled when he finally walked in.
Jey took a glance at the mountain of books. "Dang, that's a lot of books," he remarked, reaching for one.
Before he could grab it, you slapped his hand away without even looking up. "Ow!" Jey said, staring at you in surprise.
Cody burst out laughing. "Dude, don't touch her books. You think she's crazy about me? She's *really* crazy about her books."
Jey rubbed his hand, laughing. "Yeah, I see that now."
Cody continued to laugh as Jey shook his head in disbelief. You were still focused, barely acknowledging the chaos around you. "Y/N, how many books did you even get?" Jey asked, still rubbing his hand and eyeing the seemingly endless stacks around the room.
You finally looked up, your eyes sparkling with excitement. "Not enough!" you replied with a grin. "There's always room for more."
Cody walked over and sat beside you, watching as you carefully placed each book in its spot on the shelf. "I don't think we have room for all of this," he teased, poking at one of the piles.
You shot him a playful glare. "We'll make room."
Jey leaned against the wall, amused by the whole situation. "Man, I don't think I've ever seen someone this hyped over books. You're usually all over Cody, but now..." He gestured toward the books.
Cody smirked, wrapping an arm around your shoulders. "That's the power of a good story. I've lost her to the books."
You leaned into Cody with a soft smile, looking between the two of them. "You boys just don't understand. These aren't just books—they're adventures, they're escapes, they're—"
Jey cut you off, laughing. "They're your obsession, clearly!"
Cody grinned, kissing the top of your head. "Hey, I'm just happy she's happy, even if it means I've got to share her with a thousand paperbacks."
Jey gave one of the shelves a wary glance, careful not to touch anything again. "I think I'll just stay over here, far away from her books. Don't need to lose a hand."
Cody chuckled, squeezing you tighter. "Smart man. But yeah, just so you know, man, she'll fight harder for these than she would for me."
You grinned, clearly proud of your collection. "You know it!"
