Estimating the time, it should be around two in the morning. In that hollow dark room, only one person was awake. The two Callistos slouched against the wall, with no doubt the younger one snores.

Haruna found it difficult to sleep on the cold metal floor, so he chose to sacrifice slumbering for the night. He sat down, leaning against the wall. In the pitch darkness he stared, and could hear nothing but his own breathing, and Miles snoring.

He could feel himself about to doze off, yet the position he was in made it uncomfortable to get proper rest. He felt his eyes close until he heard the sound of rattling chains and clothes shuffling. Haruna jolted awake from the noise, and walked to the source of it. As he got closer, he heard a whimper.

No doubt who it was.

"Miles." Haruna crouched down beside him. He gently tapped him awake, causing Miles' breathing to hitch. Yet there was no response. "Miles, wake up." Haruna tried shaking him this time. The shaking finally woke him up, in panic and gasping for air. Miles woke up sweating, inhaling as much air as he could. His hands were trembling, proof from the sound of the chains.

"Did something happen, Miles?" Haruna asked, but was met with a wave of questions instead. "Where am I? Why is it so dark? Is there literally no light in here or something? Is this a dream? Was everything just a dream?"

"Bro." Haruna placed both his hands on Miles' shoulders. "Miles- no, none of this is a dream, and there's no light here at all-"

"Turn the lights back on, damn it!" Miles grabbed Haruna by the collar. Haruna was taken aback by this. "Okay, wait. Hold on." Miles let go of Haruna and shifted backwards, his head on his knees. Haruna switched on both his Questcom and the built in flashlight. They could see each other now.

Miles choked on his sobs, one hand over his mouth and the other fisting his bloodied cloth. And God, did Haruna hated this sight.

"You okay?" He said, scooting over towards him. "You need a hug?" Miles avoided eye contact, not saying anything. Haruna sat still beside him, not wanting to make him uncomfortable more than he already is. The two of them sat in that silence for a while, until Miles leaned on Haruna's shoulder.

"There we go." Haruna said, holding Miles in his arms. Miles rested his legs on Haruna's lap, burying his face in Haruna's shoulder. Overwhelmed, Miles cried and drained his eyes out, while Haruna rubbed circles on his back, calming him down. They were like this for about 5 minutes, until Miles started sniffling after crying. "Feeling better?" Haruna asks, looking at the boy below him. Miles simply nodded in response, the two not averting each other's gaze.

They stared at each other, completely lost in thought. Their hands subconsciously intertwined with each other, their faces barely centimeters apart. Both of them could feel each other's hot breaths, as they both continue to gaze at each other.

Being the horribly impatient one, Haruna made the first move. He cupped Miles' chin with one hand and pulled him closer with the other and closed the gap between them. Neither one of them pulled back as one savoured the other.

Haruna was gentle, but he was a good kisser too. For stealing his best friend's first kiss, he wasn't planning to get aggressive.

The both of them pulled away, and turned beet red as they realized what they did. "I'm so sorry Miles, I-I didn't mean-"

"Don't say you're sorry. It's gonna make it more awkward." Miles responded, covering half his face with his arm. "But, I just kissed you without any warning, I- alright, you're right it's getting more awkward." Haruna admitted, burying his face in his hands, embarrassed.

"I.." Miles paused. "If it makes you feel less embarrassed... I liked it."
"Instructions unclear, I'm feeling more embarrassed by the second."
"Okay then, let's just forget it."

The two of them stayed silent as they turned away, not facing each other. A few moments later, the sound of snoring returned.

Haruna leaned against the wall with his hand on his mouth. He squeezed his eyes shut as his face gets warmer and his heart beating faster.

"Why, why why why, did I do that?"
