I couldn't help but feel mad. My cheeks puffed up, blood boiling, and couldn't help but scream. Stopping under a street lamp, thinking about how Baron would just give up everything he has just to have his dream come true.
Everything we've done together, was it for nothing? I wanted to sink, have the ground swallow me whole, and disappear. My steps became uneasy with each passing light beaming down on me. Before I could get lost in my thoughts and desire to run away, I heard someone call my name.
As I turned my head, my sight was fixed on Gavin. He approached, and the concern in his eye had me worried, yet my frustration blinded me from his compassion.
I pouted, "What do you want? Shouldn't you be with Baron?" I acted a gesture of how I would imagine guys would act, "Planning your grand adventure?"
His words were few, quick yet sparse. "Baron isn't that dense. Sure he's an idiot, but he really does care about you."
My eye lowered, darting side to side, conflicted to believe or deny it. I told him, "If he really cared about me, then he would consider what I want too."
He stared as if he was acting harshly. Was he trying to scold me? Going to Lecture me about Baron and his position as Prince? Instead, he crossed his arms demanding, "What is it that you dream of?"
I paused, dumbfounded that he would bring up the thoughts of dreams and desires. As all the times we've spent, scouring those pages for us to get lost in. The time we first met, how he was a selfish brute who believed he was better than anyone to this caring compassionate man. His covered eye may be blind, but I can tell he finally learned his lesson.
My hands came together, swaying gently as I thought of Baron. How he could be a King, all handsome and powerful. To be royal-like, similar to his father's brilliant radiance. Just imagining him makes me blush and my heart flutter.
Yet, imagining him all rough and manly. Strong and charming like a knight in shining armor. Picturing him sweeping me off my feet and into his arms, I couldn't help my feel my legs quiver at the sight.
The daydreaming ceased as I just noticed Gavin still standing there, repeating the same question. Slightly embarrassed, I couldn't think of a definitive answer. I slightly turn away, trying to hide my redness.
"I, I just want to be alongside him."
Gavin made his way towards me, wrapping his arm around my shoulder. I looked up at him, pondering.
"If that is your dream, then why not play along with his dream?"
I couldn't help by lower my eyes to the floor. My hands were together like I had misbehaved with a member of the Radcliff Clan. I told him, "Because, even if Baron refuses the crown, I'm still the upcoming headmistress of the Radcliff Clan. The day in which my shining knight in armor rescues me from this fate is long gone."
My eyes started watering. My head lowered further, unable to hold the heavy weight in my chest.
"And I wanted Baron to be an adventurer, but all he cares about is wanting to run away."
Feeling the tears about to burst, I cried out, "I don't know what to do. It feels like I'm trapped and the person I love so much is drifting away further and further."
Gavin lifted his arm off. Lifting my head with his finger under my chin. My eyes locked onto his eye. I see the comfort in the light-blue iris. He was very sincere as he could only smile.
