The classroom was quiet, except for the sound of pencils scratching across paper and the soft murmurs of students discussing the lesson. Everyone was focused on the teacher, but Mahin sat at his desk, lost in his thoughts. His eyes were on his notebook, but the words written there were blurry as his mind drifted back to the previous day.
The offer.
A mysterious man in a black suit had approached him with a tempting proposal-one that promised him wealth, power, and influence if he joined their secret organization. Mahin wasn't sure what to think. It sounded exciting, but something about it didn't sit right with him. Could he really leave behind the life he had now for something so uncertain? His friends, his freedom, the simple joys of daily life-would he be willing to trade all that for power?
His thoughts were interrupted when the teacher suddenly raised her voice. "Class, I have an important announcement to make," she said, standing at the front of the room. Mahin snapped back to attention, curious about what she had to say.
The teacher smiled warmly and continued, "Tomorrow marks the start of your summer vacation. The school will be closed for several weeks, so you'll have plenty of time to relax and enjoy your break. But don't forget your summer homework!"
The classroom erupted in cheers, and Mahin could feel the energy in the room shift. Everyone was excited about the long vacation. Plans were already being made, and conversations filled the room with ideas of how to spend the next few weeks. Mahin smiled slightly, though his mind was still clouded by the decision he had to make.

After class, the group gathered in the school's central courtyard. The large tree they often sat under provided shade as they relaxed, their bags tossed on the ground beside them. The conversation quickly turned to summer vacation, and everyone had different ideas on how to spend it.
"We should go to all the sweet shops in the city!" Mahiru exclaimed, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "There are so many I want to try!"
Saif grinned and leaned back against the tree. "Or we could go to the beach. The weather's perfect for a day by the sea, and it would be a great way to relax."
Rahul, who loved exploring new places, chimed in, "We could take a trip to another city! Osaka or Kyoto would be fun. There's so much to see and do."
Santo, ever the gamer, shrugged. "We could just stay in and play video games all day. I've been waiting for a break like this to level up."
Jannat, holding a book in her lap, smiled softly. "I wouldn't mind staying in and reading. I've got a whole list of books I've been wanting to finish."
Roja stretched her arms above her head and yawned. "Why not just sleep? We finally have time to rest, and I plan on taking full advantage of it."
As they all shared their plans, the group started to bicker playfully, each person trying to convince the others that their idea was the best. Amidst the laughter, Anisha noticed something odd. Mahin, who usually loved to be involved in conversations, was sitting quietly. His expression was distant, as if he was still lost in thought.
Anisha nudged him gently. "Mahin, what do you think we should do?"
Mahin blinked and looked up, realizing that everyone was waiting for his input. He smiled faintly and shrugged. "We've got a long vacation ahead of us. Why not do everything? We can visit sweet shops, go to the beach, take a trip, play games, read, and still have time to sleep in."
The group nodded in agreement, satisfied with his suggestion. But Anisha wasn't fooled. She could see that something was still weighing on Mahin's mind.
