Meanwhile

Amanda and Odette are looking for people to ask about the newspaper from 1915 they found on the beach. So far, no one was willing to talk about it. "Excuse us, ma'am, do you have a minute?" Asked Amanda. "Of course, what can I do for you?" Asked the woman. "We were wondering if you could talk about this." Said Odette as she hands the woman the paper.

"Is this some kind of joke? This paper is like fifty years old!" She said in an annoyed tone. "We know that! We found it on the beach, and finding old newspaper from years ago seems odd, don't you think?" Amanda asked. "Look, I'd love to help you, I really would, but this is something you shouldn't ask about if it's in the past. The very long past." The woman said before walking off. "Wait, please!" Odette said.

But it was too late, the woman was long gone. "Now what do we do?" Amanda asked. "If no one wants to talk about the fifty year old article, let's just ask if anyone has seen our husbands." Odette said. Knowing it's a better plan, Amanda nods at her sister's words. The girls split up as they go off to ask people if they've seen Paul and Derek.

From Odette's perspective, she comes across a mother and her daughter. "I'm sorry to bother you two, but have you seen my husband?" She asked. "I don't think so. What does he look like?" Asked the mother. "He's about this tall, has brown hair above the shoulders, blue eyes, answers to the name of Derek." Said Odette. "I haven't seen anyone like that. Have you, Mommy?" Asked the girl. "No, sweetie, I haven't either. Sorry, miss." The mother said. "Don't be, I appreciate your help." Odette said.

From Amanda's point of view, she just asked a father and his son. "I'm looking for my husband, answers to the name of Paul. Have you seen him?" She asked. "Most everyone in this world answer to the name of Paul, honey." Said the father. "Don't worry, ma'am, you'll find him. Won't she, Daddy?" Asked the boy. "I have faith in her, son. Don't give up, miss, keep looking." The father said.

After ten minutes of asking people, the girls meet back up with each other. "Any luck?" Asked Odette. "None whatsoever." Said Amanda sadly. "Me neither." Odette said. "Some vacation this is turning out to be, huh?" Amanda asked. Odette nods sadly.

Feeling like giving up, the girls go on separate sides of the bridge and lean on the railing as they stare into the sky, singing about their husbands while memories play in their minds.

Amanda: My true love, lost in a shadow play
I will find a way through fear and doubt
I will find you out in the secret places
You hide about

No, my love, more than a fantasy
You must be for me
I'll hear your voice, and I'll see your brow
And I'll know your face, like your music

Can you hear me now?
Can we make a vow?
Ever to be faithful
I will show you how

Odette: My true love, open and turn to me
What no one can see
Your deepest dreams of your darkest nights
And your eyes like lights ever burning

I will hear your voice
And I'll see your brow
Let me know your face
Let me know it now

My true love, lost in a shadow play
I will find a way through fear and doubt
I will find you out, let me know your face
Let me know it now

Both: Now!

"Don't lose hope, Derek. Wherever you are, I'm gonna find you." Said Odette. "If you can hear me, Paul... keep holding on. I'll find you, my love. That's a promise." Said Amanda.
