Jason sat at his desk, scrolling through search engines and databases with increasing frustration. He'd been trying to find any information on "Aubrey," but all his attempts had turned up nothing useful. His brow furrowed as he hit dead ends repeatedly.

Finally, he pulled out his phone and dialed Dick's number. The line rang a few times before Dick answered.

"Hey, what's up?" Dick's voice crackled through the speaker.

"I need your help," Jason said, his tone exasperated. "I met someone at the coffee shop. Her name is Aubrey, and I'm certain she's Flare."

"Hold on," Dick said, sounding intrigued. "How'd you find out her name?"

Jason leaned back in his chair, rubbing his temples. "We talked. She told me. I knew it was her, even before she said her name."

Dick chuckled. "You're sure it was her?"

"Absolutely," Jason said, his tone firm. "She even smelled like s'mores. Nobody just smells like s'mores except Flare and this chick."

Dick laughed, "That's a pretty odd detail to remember."

"Yeah, well, you'd notice too if you spent as much time around her as I have," Jason retorted. "What does Windy smell like?"

Dick immediately answered, "Uh, she has this fresh, breezy scent. Its like when you know a storm is coming in."

Jason's grin widened. "Gotcha. So, you do know."

Dick laughed, realizing his slip. "Alright, alright. I guess you got me there. So, what's the plan?"

Jason shifted back into business mode. "I need to know more about Aubrey. Anything you can dig up would be great."

Dick agreed to help and hung up, leaving Jason to his thoughts. It wasn't long before Damian arrived at the Batcave, his presence as commanding as ever.

"I heard you're looking into someone," Damian said, his eyes sharp. "I'm here to help."

Jason shot him a skeptical look. "I didn't exactly invite you."

Damian's expression remained unchanged. "You need all the help you can get. I'm here, so make use of me."

Dick appeared shortly after, and together with Damian, they began their investigation. Dick worked on finding any information they might have missed, while Damian used his own methods to dig deeper.

It wasn't long before they discovered a troubling lead—a record from Kansas. According to the data, Aubrey had appeared randomly in Kansas 16 years ago. She was found wandering in the plains as a seven-year-old child. The family that took her in was later killed, and Aubrey disappeared again, never to be seen by them again.

Damian's eyes narrowed as he reviewed the records. "It's possible she was taken by the League after her first family was killed. It's a right of passage to prove oneself by killing, so it's likely she was the one who killed her family."

Jason shook his head. "No, that doesn't fit. It could be true, but it seems too clean, not at all like a first time kill by a child. The League usually doesn't operate like that. She might have been involved beforehand, but I doubt she was the killer. More likely, her family was killed by the League when they found out about her powers."

Dick nodded in agreement. "Jason's right. If her family was murdered, it's more plausible the League would have done it to capture her. They wouldn't have just left her in the plains to be found by random people."

Jason leaned back, deep in thought. "But what about before that? What was she doing in Kansas before she showed up as a seven-year-old? There's a gap we're missing."

Damian crossed his arms, thinking. "She could have been on the run or hidden from whatever was hunting her. The League might have tracked her from a young age."

Dick nodded thoughtfully. "We need to find out what happened before she appeared in Kansas. It might give us more insight into her past and why she was targeted."

Jason agreed, feeling the weight of the investigation settling on his shoulders. "Alright. Let's dig deeper. We need to know everything we can about her early years, where she came from, and why she ended up with the League."

The team set to work, diving into old records and trying to uncover any remaining clues. They weren't finding much. But Jason knew one thing for sure—he was determined to uncover the truth, no matter where it led.
