He closed his eyes, sinking deeper into the water, and for the first time in a long time, Jason Todd allowed himself to feel safe, content, and loved.

And with Aubrey behind him, pressing soft kisses into his skin, he knew he'd never want it any other way. He leaned back, feeling her soft skin against his back. Her chest was pressed up against him, and he could feel every rise and fall of her breasts as she breathed.

He wanted to turn, to take her into his arms, tell her how she made him feel, and show her the effect she had on him. He wanted it more than anything, wanted her, but something kept a tight grip on him. He was a coward. Worried that if he turned and gave himself to her, that if he had her completely, she would be taken away. That if he let himself be completely vulnerable with her, she would reject him, wound him worse than he had ever been.

He hated that he was this weak. It wasn't like his body wasn't reacting to hers. He could feel the obvious signs under the water. So why couldn't he do anything about it.

Aubrey had gone from massaging his shoulders to running her nails down his back. He shivered at her touch. She was perfect for him. Gentle and soothing, but still with enough bite to excite him and keep him engaged. The way her hands ran down his back, her nails scratching at his skin slightly. All of it meshed together perfectly. Jason let out a sigh, and Aubrey stopped.

"Everything okay? We can stop if you want? Get out and watch a movie on the couch if your feeling uncomfortable?" Her voice was soft, concern lacing it. But no judgment.

She never judged him. If he decided to get out now and sleep on the couch, she would be perfectly okay with that, he realized. He could stop and regress in their relationship as much as he needed to, and she would be ready for anything he wanted to do. No questions, no protests. He called all the shots.

She had given up her control for him.

The thought hit him like a wave, pulling him out to sea. He had her. Completely, she trusted him, and would do whatever he wanted. He could pull away at any time and didn't have to feel guilty about it. He could try.

He reached for her hand laying on his shoulder, squeezing it.

"Im good. Im better than that actually. I love you so much." His voice broke, and his hold on her hand tightened before he released it.

Aubrey damn near cried at the words and the way he spoke them. She had never wanted to kill anybody as badly as she wanted to kill the people that had hurt him.

She reached around him and turned his head to look at her, his body shifting slightly so that he could see her without craning his neck. She was shorter than him, so the water covered her chest, lapping right up at her collar bone.

"I love you too baby, don't even doubt that. Im here for anything." Her voice was strong, looking into his green eyes that swimmed with tears.

She pushed up on her knees, rising above him and exposing her chest and torso. Jason tried to look away but she held his face in her hands, bringing his gaze up to her eyes before she leaned down and kissed him. He melted into the kiss, his body turning towards hers and arms wrapping around her her waist. They broke the kiss, and Jason closed his eyes, leaning his face into her soft, toned stomach. Aubrey chuckled above him, her knees resting between his legs now so that they were facing each other.

Jason groaned as she ran her fingers through his hair in soothing motions.

"Keep that up sweetheart and we may find ourselves discovering if Dick was right or not." His voice dropped an octave, and Aubrey felt heat pool towards the bottom of her belly.
