Chapter 10 (Edited-Longer Chapter)

Abandoned Farm, 15 Miles Outside Budapest Hungary, Europe 

Steve, Joe, and the Five-0 task force rolled up down a small dirt road in a federal SUV following Agent Forrester and Kellet who were driving another dark tinted-out SUV. As the vehicles made their way down the dirt road they switched their lights off not wanting to give away the element of surprise as both vehicles rolled to a stop 200 meters away from an abandoned barn. 

Everyone climbed out of the vehicles as Forrester opened the trunk of the SUV he drove in revealing a bunch of semi-automatic rifles with boxes of amo, armored helmets, night vision goggles, and bulletproof vests. "Okay let's gear up, everyone grab an earpiece so we can communicate when we split up," Forrester said keeping his voice low. 

Arizona lay in the barn's fenced-in area, trying her hardest to keep her eyes open. Knowing she closed her eyes she might not open them again. All she could do was hope that Forrester remembered the piercing; otherwise, she was dead. 

The dark-haired woman let out a cough wincing in pain from the motion when she heard the sound of a gunshot go off causing her to pause and listen. Did she hear a gunshot? she questioned as more gunshots went off outside the barn. As Arizona's vision blurred she could faintly make out 7 figures in black make their way into the barn carrying automatic weapons. "Arizona?" a familiar voice called out causing her to groan in pain on the floor. 

A figure knelt closer to her and she felt the ties on her wrist loosen. Arizona looked up meeting Forrester's bright blue eyes before they fell to her abdomen and worry washed over his face. The agent pulled his button-up shirt off and pressed into the open bullet wound causing Arizona to groan in pain. "I got Arizona, but she's in rough shape. We're gonna need a medevac," Forrester said through his earpiece as Arizona's vision began to fade to darkness. "Hey, Hey, Hey, Arizona. Look at me," Forrester said taking one of her hands in his. 

With all the energy she had Arizona opened her eyes to look at him. "There you go, You gotta keep your eyes open for me okay? Talk to me, what's with the trip to Budapest?" he asked. "i missed... the city. I'm so... tired Scott," Arizona said barely above a whisper as her eyes slowly fell closed. "Hey, Hey, Arizona. Look at me," Forrester pleaded as Arizona passed out. "Where's that Med Evac?" Forrester asked through the earpiece. "3 minutes out," Kellet replied through the earpiece. 

"Just hang on Ari. Hang on, help is on the way," Forrester said as Steve and 2 paramedics rushed into the fenced-in area. Put a neck brace around the dark-haired woman's neck. Carefully placed her on a backboard. One paramedic began hooking her up to a bunch of machines while the other took the shirt off the wound and began packing the wound. "Bullet's a through and through," one of the paramedics said. "She's stable but we gotta go now," the other replied as they lifted the backboard holding Arizona and made their way out of the fence-in area, out of the barn, and over to a helicopter. 

BAU Private Jet, Destination: Budapest Hungary

 Rossi, Prentiss, and Reid sat on the BAU Jet 2 hours out from Budapest. The 3 BAU agents got on the jet when they found out Arizona had been abducted. Rossi sat across one of the tables from Prentiss while Reid was lounging on the couch reading a book. 

The sound of Rossi's phone pulled his attention from staring out the window on the jet. "Agent David Rossi," he said answering the call. "Agent Rossi, it's Agent Forrester. We managed to locate Arizona." Forrester said through the line. "Is she okay?" Rossi asked worry laced in his voice. "She was airlifted to Saint Margaret's Hospital, with a gunshot wound, she lost a lot of blood," Forrester said trying to keep his voice from shaking. 

"We're gonna be landing in Budapest in an hour and a half we'll meet you at the hospital," Rossi replied before he ended the call. Both Prentiss and Reid had their eyes on Rossi the entire time, "That was Agent Forrester, they found Arizona. She's on her way to the hospital in critical condition. I told him we'd meet him at the airport when we land," Rossi said updating them on Arizona's Condition. 

Reid closed the book he was reading and sat up, " What I don't understand is why she took off to begin with to Mexico and now Budapest?" Reid said. "Arizona's dad John sent her to live with me after her mom died," Rossi said. "In a car accident," Prentiss said remembering Arizona mentioning briefly. Rossi shook his head, "John did some digging and the car had an incendiary device attached to the bottom of it," Rossi replied causing shock to wash over Prentiss and Reid's faces. "She was murdered?" Reid said more than asked, "That's why Arizona was sent to live with you," Prentiss added. "Does Arizona know?" Reid asked as Rossi shook his head. "As far as she knows her mom's death was an accident. She didn't see her dad much after she moved in with me, not for lack of trying on my part. John wanted to find out what happened to his wife and spent years finding clues and getting close to solving it. It cost him his life in the end," Rossi explained. 

Saint Margaret Hospital, Budapest Hungary 

Steve, Joe White, the rest of Five-0, and Agents Forrester and Kellet sat in a waiting room waiting to hear any word on Arizona's condition. The moment they arrived at the hospital, they were informed that she was rushed into surgery, and was in critical condition. That was over an hour ago and they hadn't heard anything. 

Steve was pacing around the room trying to keep his thoughts from going to that dark place. A place, a world where he might have to bury his baby sister. He immediately shook the heartbreaking thought as Dave walked into the doorway along with a man and woman both brunette. "Any word on Arizona?" Dave asked as Steve shook his head no. "Nothing yet," Steve replied. 

5 Minutes later a man in a white lab coat and scrubs walked into the room. "Arizona McGarrett," he said causing everyone to stand up. Steve and Dave walked over to the man so they were standing in front of him. "The bullet was a through and through, It did tear a part of Arizona's lung. The surgery was touch and go, multiple blood transfusions- Doc is she going to be okay?" Rossi asked him. "She's stable at the moment, she's in the ICU however between the blood loss and the hit in the head she's fallen into a comatose state," The doctor replied. "Do you have an idea of how long she'll be in a comatose state?" Reid asked. 

The doctor was quiet, "We're not sure right now, we're hopeful she'll wake up but we also don't know the extent of her brain injury at the moment and we won't know for sure until she wakes up," The doctor replied. "Can we see her?" Steve asked as the doctor nodded. "3 people at a time please, the rooms are not the largest, right this way," the doctor said as Rossi and Steve followed the man through a set of double doors, down a few long hallways, and into the ICU Ward. 

The doctor paused outside of an open doorway, "She's in there, if you need anything have one of the nurses page me," the doctor replied before he walked away. Dave and Steve slowly made their way into the small ICU room where Arizona lay on the bed unconscious, she had tubes down her throat helping her breathe, wires and monitors attached to her. She looked so small and fragile. 

Steve let out a shaky breath as he walked over to a chair set next to his sister's bedside. "How did you guys end up finding her?" Dave asked Steve as he took a seat in a chair next to where he was standing. Steve looked at Dave and nodded to Arizona, "Did you know Arizona got a piercing on her collarbone a few years ago? custom made with GPS under the jewelry," Steve replied earning a surprised look from Dave who looked at Arizona. 

"I didn't, though I'm also not entirely surprised, with the cases she's worked," Dave replied. "Thank you for finding her Steve," He added. Steve nodded, "Team Effort and it was all mostly Forrester. He remembered the GPS piercing and tracked it," Steve replied.
