Adrenaline rushed through Nova's veins as bullets rained down around them. The other's were yelling behind her but her mind was spinning with questions. Suddenly, Five was slightly ahead of her, considering he was in better physical shape and he had longer legs than she did. Nova's eyes narrowed on the statue a few yards ahead of them. It had a wide stone base and was fairly tall. It was a good enough place to hide behind while they got their barrings and made a game plan. However, since she was distracted by her own thoughts Nova slid on a particularly thick patch of ice. A yelp of surprise escaped her lips as her body pitched forward and slammed into Five.

In his surprise, and probably due to his heightened state of adrenaline, Five suddenly teleported to a different location. At the last second, he was able to grab onto Nova as she stumbled into him.

"Wha-? What the fuck?" Nova managed to gasp out. Her dark eyes surveyed the area in confusion.

It appeared to be a subway station of some sort due to the turnstiles and the familiar square tiles on the walls. She breathed heavily as she leaned forward while resting her hands against her knees in order to attempt to catch her breath. Looking around, her eyebrows furrowed in confusion at the odd symbols on the sign in front of her. It wasn't written in any language or script the Perez girl was familiar with. This was particularly surprising considering her extensive education in languages due to her time at the Umbrella Academy and the Commission.

"Stairs or turnstiles?" Five asked after they both took a moment to catch their breaths.

"Turnstiles," Nova shrugged.

There was no rhyme or reason to her decision. Truthfully, the girl had no idea where they were. However, she was a tad bit curious. Nodding his head, Five held out a hand to the girl standing slightly behind him. Nova had no clue whether it was out of habit, fear, or chivalry. Not that it mattered to her anyway. She took his hand squeezing tightly before he led them through one of the turnstiles.

Cautiously, the duo proceeded further into the mysterious subway station. When they got to the bottom of a flight of stairs they seemed to be on a subway platform. Much like the upstairs area, the platform was similar to the ones Nova was familiar with. The same tiles lined the walls and pillars were placed intermittently down the platform. There were tracks on each side presumably for when a train pulled in so that passengers could get on and disembark.

"You been here before?" Nova asked quietly.

Her hand was still tightly gripping Five's and they stood close together. They were both weary of this unfamiliar environment. They took comfort in knowing that the other was there to experience it with them. They also were both afraid that if they were to let go or put any distance between them the other would disappear leaving them all alone.
