We've now been driving for approximately five hours. It's now early morning the next day and Rick pulls up at a highway, directly infront of a car with faded letters and food on the bumper.

"What is this?" I ask, almost falling in and out of sleep, not having slept for at least a day or two.

"If they had any common sense, they'd come here. There's plenty of food and water and supplies." Rick explains and I nod. It makes sense.

But as soon as I step out of the car, the bright sunlight almost blinds me.

After adjusting to the painfully bright light, I look around at the scene. The highway is packed of people free cars that are loaded with supplies.

"What now?" I ask Rick and he smoulders slightly.

"We wait."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"It's been three hours." I state bluntly, lying on top of a car in a starfish position.
"She's got a point." Hershel speaks up.
"I don't agree with you, hershel. We should wait. I was just stating how long it's been." I roll my eyes.
Rick gives me a warning glance but he knows that I'm only saying this in anger at the potential loss of my father.
I sit up, the truth impacting me that I could lose my only family left.
Just when it looks like Rick is about to start crying, a rumble of an engine can be heard in the distance. We all look at the direction of the sound.
It only takes a few moments for us to see that it's daryl and Carol on the back of daryls bike.
The engine rumbles to a close and I jump off of the top of the vehicle I'm sitting on and run towards my dad.
"Thank god." He mumbles under his breath, hopping off of the bike and walking towards me and Rick, not forgetting hershel.
I embrace my father in a tight hug and he kisses the top of my head before separating.
Two cars also pull up, and Maggie runs to hershel, everyone reuniting with their families and loved ones.
After a quick discussion, everyone agrees to go west and leave the dead, or possibly alive, people behind.
"Hop on." Dad pats the back of his bike and I nod, jumping onto it and holding onto him.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

It's been hours of driving and we're running out of fuel so we pull over and everyone begins arguing.

We eventually agree to stay here and once it's dark, we all huddle around a fire.

Rick starts breaking down and I dont blame him. After the whole situation with Shane, I would too.

Eventually the argument calms down, especially once Rick tells us that we're all infected. My brows furrow at the sudden announcement. I expected tje disease to adapt but this is whole new ground.

"What do you mean?" I ask and Rick blinks slowly.

"At the cdc, doctor jenner told me that it sticks with us. That we all are just carriers for the disease, simply waiting for the vessel to become available." Rick's slight information dump leaves us all in shock, waiting for each other to speak up first.

Carol is the brave one that makes a sound before the rest of us.

"And you didn't think to tell us?" Carol complains and everyone glances at Rick in agreement.

"Would it have made a difference?" Rick's words impact us all. This is it. There is no defeating it. This is the end of the world.

Rick then walks off, dismissing any form of argument that could possibly have been started.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It's now late at night. It's dark out and everyone is pressed against their loved ones. Everyone besides Rick and Lori.
Even I'm huddling up to my dad for warmth and I am not a hugger in the slightest. Dad gave me his jacket which I insisted not to take but he told me that if I didn't wear it he wouldn't wear it himself anyway.
Everyone is sitting in silence, the occasional cough or crackle of the burning wood sounding out and breaking the deafening silence.
T-dog is on watch at the moment and everyone is looking anxiously away from the group. All it could take is a single Glenn walker for this to be all over.
My dad starts talking to Carol, Carol disagreeing that Rick is the leader for the group. Then a debate starts between everyone. Maggie says to Glenn that they'd be better off taking their chances. And hershel speaks up. "Don't be foolish. There's no food. No fuel. No ammo."
A cracking of twigs interrupts their convosation and Beth talks, "what is that?" Her southern accent makes me smile every time I hear it. Its so beautiful.
"Couldn't be anything." Dad gets up and loads his crossbow. "Could be a racoon, could be a possum."
Glenn intervenes, "a walker?"
"We need to leave I mean What're we waiting for?" Maggie doesn't have a point at all.
"We're waiting for Rick to make the decision. It's because of him that we're all still alive. And you don't appreciate that enough." My few sentences shut Maggie up and Rick finally speaks up.
"The last thing we need is for an argument to start. We don't have the vehicles to move and sure as he'll no one's travelling on foot." Now Rick has a point.
One thing leads to another and before anyone can say anything, Rick walks off, declaring that tomorrow we start to move on foot.
