The bigger, red creature took a step towards Bearkit. "Move!" Willowkit hissed to him. It's jaws widened, as if grinning at its newfound meal. One of the dog like creatures barked. It sounded like he was warning the leader.
Willowkit felt a small growl rise in her throat. She hissed and swiped at the creatures. A slow wind drifted through the small clearing, blowing the creatures foul scent towards the pair of kittens. The small she-kit tried not to wince as the disgusting smell hit her nose.
She prayed silently to StarClan that somecat, anycat would come and save them. 'What are they?' Willowkit wondered as the leader stepped towards them, it's claws digging into the sea of pine needles that covered the ground. "F-f-foxes," Bearkit muttered, his pupils as wide as juniper berries.
"Wait what?" Willowkit asked and looked at her brother. His small, furry body shook with fear.
"I'm about to be killed by f-f-foxes" he said, trembling.
'Of course!' She thought in realization. The small she-kit remembered her mother telling them about these foul beasts. They were scavengers, feeding off of carrion and other creatures left-overs. Willowkits green eyes widened as the fox took another step forward. She hissed and swiped and him. He let out a low, sickening growl. It was getting angry. The she-kit wondered how many warriors before her this foul bee-brained creature had killed. How much blood had stained his fur?
Willowkit took a single step closer to Bearkit. The fox raised its paw. His evil grin was unmistakable. He was going to kill them. The fox swiped at Willowkit. She flew and hit her leg against a tree. The pain was unbearable. Willowkit was losing her grip on the small amount of senses she had left. The pain filled her every thought, before the world went black.

Willowkit woke slowly. She looked around groggily. The soft light of the moon lit the small den. Steadily, her focus sharpened. Her head wiped up when she gained full consciousness. "B-Bearkit?" She called out into the night. A cat like shape appeared at the entrance of the den. "It's alright little one," the shape purred, moving closer to the small she-kit. "Bearkit is alive, but wounded," he-no, she said, Willowkit decided.
"A-are you from StarClan?" Willowkit asked, afraid, yet mystified. The figure stepped into view. Her pelt shone like star light. Her eyes were a deep green colour, they had lighter, golden flecks imbedded in them. The strange she-cats pelt was a golden, fiery colour. It must have matched her personality, judging from the emotion that shone through the green pools that were her eyes.
"I am from SilverPelt, young one," she mewed. "But I'm not here for you,"
"Then why are you here?" Willowkit asked, started to get curious.
"Well, little one," she mewed gracefully. "My name is Skyshade,"
"That's a very pretty name," the she-kit commented.
"Yes, and I have came to warn you," she said as smoothly as honey, "don't stray from your path, but be first sure you've chosen the right one first. And beware of the leader who calls this clan home,"
Then, the she-cat disappeared, leaving Willowkit alone. Alone in the medicine cat den. The words of Skyshade echoing in her ears.
