The first girl in a glade full of boys. All of whom have no memories of their past selves or who they were before arriving in this strange prison. But Mila remembers. Every single memory, the good and bad, are ensconced in her brain, a constant reminder of her purpose in the glade, a constant reminder of her mission.
Hiding her memories and masking as one of them, she must gain their trust and slowly lead them towards the exit of the maze. Slowly lead them towards their impending doom. She is the trigger.
But then he arrives.
Thomas.
The boy who runs headlong into any obstacle and has an overwhelming urge for freedom. The boy who makes her laugh and feel like she can let her guard down and be herself. The boy whose one wish is to escape this forsaken maze and live a life of liberty. Not knowing that freedom is not what he will be facing on the other side.
Mila can grant his one wish. She can keep her guard up, fuel his fire and hurt all of her new friends in the process. If she does her mission will be complete and the people she cares about will be safe. But what happens when the people she cares about are no longer only on the outside. What if she's fallen for the stubborn, intelligent, slightly insane brunette boy who keeps running straight toward the unknown danger. Can she keep him and her family safe? Can she still complete her mission without causing harm to her new family?
