elias wolff

don't ask him why, how, when or what is exactly what made him feel the way he does for natalia rodriguez. the charming, cool, talented and very smart driver for his father's team. he just did. he saw right through her and she saw right through him. she was full of light and he craved it every time he was away in the best way possible. hence why he was sitting in front of toto and susie wolff confessing he was ready for the surgery he had been so afraid of doing just two weeks ago.

toto and susie couldn't really pinpoint when it happened either, they just were very aware of the fact. they were also smart. they knew it wasn't just a change of heart that pushed elias to choose the surgery.

the change of heart had a name, last name, job, salary and a magical charmspeak of sorts, but that might just have been tali rodriguez's natural charm that had the teenager wrapped around her finger.

"are you a hundred percent sure about this elias?" susie asked with caution not wanting him to feel forced to do it.

"no." he said bluntly. "i'm scared. like really scared. but tali changed my mind. she even promised to be there for me. she gave me courage. i feel brave enough to do it." he said, smiling softly at the mention of the driver.

"i want to do it after australia. have the main two weeks of recovery done before the next race." he continued when his parents didn't reply.

"i'll call the doctor right now." his dad was the first to snap out of the shocked state. "i even have him on speed dial." he pointed with a childish smile at the phone as he stood up to properly call the doctor.

"we're proud of you, elias." susie said with a smile while squeezing his knee (the healthy one).

"thanks, susie." he smiled to his step mother before she stood up to make sure toto wasn't just cheering to the doctor instead of actually booking the surgery.

after thinking and thinking about what this meant he chose to clear his head and take rufus on a walk.

"come on boy, let's go take a walk, yeah?" he said in a voice only the dog knew.

as he walked down the block he listened to taylor swift. he was on a mission. learn what the bracelet tali gave her meant. he was starting to lose hope. he had gone through almost her entire discography and he still didn't find the song with the letters he wore on his wrist.

it wasn't until he approached his house to take a shower before dinner that he looked down to his phone when he received a notification that he noticed the title of the song matched the ones he had been wearing for almost a week.

walking inside and removing rufus' leash he paid attention to the first verse of the cheery sounding song.

Hey Stephen, I know looks can be deceivin'

But I know I saw a light in you

And as we walked, we were talkin'

I didn't say half the things I wanted to

Of all the girls tossing rocks at your window

I'll be the one waiting there even when it's cold

Hey Stephen, boy, you might have me believin'

I don't always have to be alone

that's a cute song. he thought as he walked towards the kitchen to get some water.

'Cause I can't help it if you look like an angel

Can't help it if I wanna kiss you in the rain, so

Come feel this magic I've been feelin' since I met you

Can't help it if there's no one else

Mmm, I can't help myself

elias wolff dropped the cup of water he was holding. thankfully it was a plastic cars themed cup that definitely belonged to jack, who is a child and likes that kind of thing. the noise caught the attention of the rest of the people in the house, rushing to the kitchen with worried faces.

there, toto found his son with both airpods on, a shocked expression, and a puddle of water surrounding his feet.

tali had confessed her crush on him through a song not expecting him to figure it out.

tali rodriguez liked elias wolff and elias wolff knew.

elias wolff liked tali rodriguez and he really wanted tali rodriguez to know as well.

he had to plan something perfect. genuine, sweet and full of amazing things.

waking up from his daze he saw his father waving a hand in front of his face asking what was going on.

removing the airpods he looked up to his father and smiled. big, white, toothy, genuine and beautiful. naturally, toto smiled back. he loved seeing his son so happy, only thing is he didn't know why that was.

"care to explain?" toto asked with a raised brow.

"she likes me, dad." he said with a smile. "and i like her too."

"i know." he said easily. very amused by his son's shocked expression.

"what made you realize?" he asked his son with a smile as he leaned against the fridge to his right.

"she thought i wouldn't try to figure it out but i did." he said looking at the beaded bracelet on his wrist. "hey stephen, i can't help myself."

tali rodriguez had changed the way elias wolff's brain was hardwired and he couldn't be happier about it. he was going to do everything he could to make sure she knew he felt the same.
