Everyone's busy. Or they're avoiding me. My siblings are out. My mom is in another room with the door locked. She hasn't spoken to me since that day. I don't know whether it's out of guilt or if she can't just look me in the eye and see my father.
I feel alone. And lonely. I check my phone. No one has reached out. The silence is suffocating, making me feel more isolated than ever. Perhaps I've been so busy with my mission and goal that I stirred away from family and friends without even noticing. I realize now that I need to make more of an effort to reach out and connect with those around me. It's never too late to rebuild those relationships and feel less alone in the world.
Another mafia meeting. Hopefully, this one doesn't end with blood in my hands. Maybe it'll even be my last mission.

The room smells like old wood. The middle of the ballroom is dominated by a grand chandelier hanging from the high ceiling, casting a warm glow over the polished floors. The sound of soft music echoes through the space, creating an atmosphere of elegance and sophistication. It is grand and opulent; the chandeliers are made of crystal, and the mirrors are beautifully glided. The walls are adorned with intricate tapestries and paintings, adding to the luxurious ambiance of the room. The overall effect is one of timeless beauty and grace, transporting visitors to a bygone era of glamour and refinement.
I never dress simple in such events, so I went ahead and wore my mother's navy blue dress from the 90s. The dress hugged my figure perfectly, exuding a sense of vintage charm that complemented the lavish surroundings. I made a slit at the end of the beautiful dress, which showed off my legs. The dress, paired with sparkling golden heels and gold jewelry, completed my elegant ensemble for the evening. The intricate lace detailing on the dress added a touch of sophistication, while the deep V-neckline added a modern twist to the classic silhouette. The dress matched my eyes quite well. My hair was in an elegant bun. Over my dress, I wore a long overcoat. This time I don't plan on blood getting in my dress if things go south.
The overcoat added an extra layer of warmth and sophistication to my outfit, creating a stylish and practical look for the evening. With my hair neatly styled and the slit in my dress adding a hint of allure, I felt confident and ready for whatever the night may bring. The theme of the event was "A Night of Elegance," and my outfit fit the theme perfectly with its timeless yet contemporary elements. The overall look was a perfect balance of old-world glamour and modern sophistication, making me feel confident and stylish throughout the evening.
I mingle with guests. They weren't here the last meeting. So the last meeting must've been arranged only for the sole reason of trapping me. The guests give me weird glances. They must've heard what happened. My consiglieri informed me that after what happened in the last meeting, I was nicknamed "The Butcher" due to my ruthlessness. I decide to play it cool and charm the guests, proving that "The Butcher" can also be a gracious person. I engage in conversation, showcasing my charisma and wit to dispel any negative perceptions.
However, my eyes keep searching for one person. Andros Vasilios. I met him at the cafe the other day, and I had noticed that his infatuation with me was gone. And my men have already informed me he cut off the truce. He had never even spoken to his father about a truce with the Solomons. But he knows too much. I've used him too much. And for that, I must make sure he cannot and won't ever live to tell anything to anyone. I must eliminate Andros Vasilios before he becomes a threat to my plans. His knowledge poses a risk that I cannot afford to take lightly.
To my surprise, it wasn't hard to find him. He was outside, in front of the water fountain. The area didn't have any security cameras. Nor did it have any witnesses around. For this special day, I had worn my beautiful blue gloves so as to not leave any fingerprints behind. It was the perfect opportunity to make my move and ensure that Andros Vasilios would never be able to reveal my secrets.
I approached him from behind, masking my face with a sweet and kind smile. "Andros." I whispered his name softly, causing him to turn around in surprise. Before he could react, I swiftly pulled out a syringe filled with a lethal dose of poison. This certain poison would make it seem like he had a heart attack if an autopsy was done. As he stumbled back in shock, I injected the poison into his neck, watching as his eyes widened in horror. With a satisfied smirk, I whispered, "Our secrets die with you now." At his last moment, he spoke in a hoarse whisper, "You'll never get away with this." I simply chuckled and replied, "Oh, but I already have."
I simply walk back in, pleasantly mingling again. I had taken another life. Another son. Another man. But this time, it was different. This time, I felt a twinge of remorse as I watched the life drain from his eyes. It was a feeling I had experienced but never like this. Perhaps, even though I was using him. I got attached. Attached to the man he could've played out to be. Attached to the relationship we could've had. But in the end, I knew it was all just a game to me. A game I played well, but one that left a bitter taste in my mouth as I walked away from yet another life I had taken. The remorse lingered, a reminder of the humanity I tried to bury deep within myself.
