"Try holding it higher this time." The purple haired boy told his partner, clearly trying but failing to sound serious as he caught sight of his partner's cerulean eyes reflected on the phone screen; shining and sparkling with barely contained amusement as they snickered at their faces pictured in real time.

The phone was angled from above them, the couple stood close together to both be in view. A button was pressed, then both observed the picture. Olive green eyes narrowed as a wrinkle formed between them, again irritated by how stupid the picture looked. Were selfie cameras designed to make people look unflattering? His partner quickly swiped the image off the screen with one tan finger, "Not that one either..." They decided, echoing Chet's own thoughts exactly.

Again, the pair attempted to readjust the phone camera, hoping to find a slightly more flattering angle. "Maybe I'll zoom out this time?" Kurin suggested, watching Chet's expression in the camera. Once they were met with a nod, they double tapped the screen in an attempt to zoom out then quickly took the picture.
Upon opening it to view it, it didn't take long before both were doubled over laughing.

"That," Chet snorted, "Is the worst picture you've taken all day."
Kurin nodded in agreement, tears of laughter almost escaping the corners of their eyes. "Yeah, it's almost so bad it's good." They cackled, looking at the photo in which they'd zoomed in instead of out. "I'm half tempted to use this."
Their joke was met with a sharp glare from their boyfriend, "Don't you dare." He warned, olive eyes glaring daggers, despite secretly thinking about how it would be funny. "Give me the phone, I'll get a good picture. We'll never get one if you're the one holding the camera."

Kurin rolled their eyes but handed over their phone to their boyfriend nonetheless, waiting as Chet fiddled around with the camera settings for a few moments before signalling for them to get back into their positions, faces pressed close together so to both fit in the frame. Yet still, Chet didn't press the button to take the photo, readjusting their position and the angle slightly every few seconds but never actually pressing the shutter.
Almost a full minute passed of Chet attempting to get the composition right before Kurin gave up holding in their giggles over how serious their partner was, breaking their pose.

"Oh come on! I almost had it then." Their boyfriend complained, not half as annoyed as he tried to sound.
Kurin shook their head slowly, their dark hair moving too, "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, it's just.. You're taking this way too seriously." They giggled, placing a hand on Chet's cheek.
The boy blushed, "Well, sorry for trying to take a good photo!" He replied indignantly, his subconscious leaning in to the touch, betraying how he wasn't truly upset at all.

Their foreheads rested against each other and their noses touched, Kurin sighed softly, "It doesn't matter if it's good or bad, as long as it's of you and me."
Chet laughed, "You sound ridiculous, you know that right?" He asked, a soft edge to his tone as his breath slightly caught in his throat.
"Yeah, I know." Kurin answered, finally joining their lips in a sweet kiss, it lasted for a few moments before they pulled away.

Oddly, a small smirk was worn on Chet's face as they broke apart.
It soon made sense when he handed back his partner's phone, a picture of the two of them mid kiss displayed on the screen.

Their boyfriend's eyes glittered slyly, "How's that for a new lock screen photo?"

Kurin adverted their eyes away from Chet's, their cheeks warm with blush. Looking down again at the picture, they chose the option: Set as home and lock screen, and they smiled, once again meeting their boyfriend's eyes. Warm cerulean into satisfied olive.

"More than perfect."
