"Oh my gosh, this is so good and it's so much better than dry popcorn."

"It must be the way how you're munching on the food." He teased and Jelissa playfully rolled her eyes. Not caring about anything else other than filling up her stomach.

"If you don't mind me asking, why does your mom has control over you when you're twenty-two? Are you sacred of her or something?" he asks, dipping his chicken nugget on the sweet and sour sauce.

"It's not that I'm scared of her, I just don't have the heart to tell her no because she's my mother." She explains, feeling defensive. Even though she knew he is right.

"My fault, wasn't trying to get you upset or be in your business. You just stay avoiding her after she's been blowing you up." He said nonchalant but low-key finds it funny that this girl is scared for sure.

Jelissa sighed, uses a napkin to wipe the crumbs from the side of her lips. "I'm sorry, it's just embarrassing and also frustrating to explain I obey everything she tells me to do because she's over-protective and I'm her only child. She just wants what's best for me and not makes the same mistake as her when she was young." She confessed, sipping on her power raid as her phone begins to ring again but this time, it's Angela.

"Excuse me" she said and Jay-Jay nods his head, taking another bite of his nuggets.

"Hey"

"Hey our butts; where the hell are you girl?"

"Because your mama has been calling us and our parent's crying hysterically because you're not picking up the phone." Olivia chimed in, standing next to Angela.

Jelissa rolls her eyes. "I'm sorry about that, you two already know how she is but I promise that I am fine."

"Well that's great and all but where exactly are you? And she mentioned something about a thug boy had threatened your friend Philip?" Angela said.

"I am not surprised he would tell on me but I didn't except him to be a liar either." She complains, causing Jay-Jay to snicker.

Jelissa signal to him to stay quiet but her friends already heard him.

"Who is that snickering in the background?" Angela asks.

"It's Jay-Jay,  I have to go but I am fine and safe. Just please don't tell my mama or your parents that you spoke to me. I'll text you girls when I get home."

"Mhm, make sure that little trick of his won't start any mess or else, he will have to deal with us." Angela scolded and he chuckles at her friend since she's talking loud.

"I promise I will."

"Alright, talk to you later and we always gotchu and please get home safely." Olivia said and Jelissa hung up the phone.

"What?" she asks looking at Jay-Jay sneering.

"My fault, it's just you're too innocent." He admits.

"What do you mean?"

"Come on, you're twenty-two years old, you can't defend yourself from your mommy and did you really said telling on you?" He said and laughs again as Jelissa feels her face fluster.
