I Wake Up Groggily Then Think to Myself Whoa, it's Halloween Saturday, October 31st! I can't believe it's finally here. Today's the day Scott's having his Halloween party, and I'm so stoked to be celebrating with my friends.

I Pick up my phone from my Nightstand and dial Mark's number. As I wait for him to answer, I glance at the clock on my wall. 11:45 am. Still plenty of time to kill before Scott's party tonight.

"Hey, Mark!" I say, trying to contain my excitement. "Happy Halloween, dude! What's the plan for today?"

Mark's voice comes through on the other end of the line, sounding just as stoked as I am. "Dude, I'm so down for today! I was thinking we could grab some lunch at that new Mexican place downtown Sombreros, and then head back to my place to work getting ready.

I nod, even though he can't see me. "Sounds like a plan I'll meet you there at 1 pm"

Today's going to be an epic day, and I'm stoked to be sharing it with Mark.

I head out to Sombreros, feeling the sun on my face as I walk in. I spot Mark already sitting at a table, looking like a total devil in his costume. I chuckle to myself, thinking he's going to be the life of the party tonight.

I slide into the booth across from him, giving him a nod. "What's up, devil boy?" I ask, grinning.

Mark smiles back, his eyes gleaming with mischief. "Just getting ready to devour this massive burrito, Tom. You know, carbo-loading for the party tonight."

I laugh, signaling to the waitress to come take my order. "Sounds like a plan to me. I'm going to need all the energy I can get to keep up with you tonight."

After devouring our "massive burritos", Mark and I sit back, feeling content and relaxed. We spend the next few hours chatting, laughing, and making plans for the party tonight. We're both getting more and more stoked by the minute, and our excitement is palpable.

As the clock ticks closer to 4 pm, I glance at my watch and suggest, "Dude, we should probably head back to my place to get ready for the party. We don't want to be late, and I still need to get in my costume."

Mark nods, agreeing. "Yeah,Let's roll, Tom!"

We toss some cash on the table, leave a generous tip, and head out of Sombreros. The sun is still shining bright as we walk back to My place, feeling like we're on top of the world. The party is going to be sick.

As we walk, the cool afternoon air fills my lungs, and I can't help but feel a sense of nostalgia wash over me. I've had so many epic times with Mark, and tonight is going to be no exception.

We stroll up to my front door, I dig out my keys to let us and we enter inside Mark follows me up to my room, and we both dive into the chaos of costumes and accessories scattered all over the floor. I start digging through my closet, pulling out various pieces of my Vampire costume.

Mark plops down on the bed, watching with amusement as I start to piece together my outfit. "Dude, you're really going all out with this Vampire thing, aren't you?" he says, chuckling.

I grin, holding up a Red Cloak. "Hell yeah, I am! I want to make a statement at Scott's party tonight. Besides, it's Halloween - the one night of the year where you can totally get away with dressing like a freak."

Mark nods, nodding in agreement. "Fair enough, Tom. You're going to rock this costume. I'm just going to stick with my simple devil attire - I don't want to steal the freak spotlight from you."

I shoot him a mock-offended look, laughing. "Hey, watch it, buddy"

As I slip on my vampire cape, I feel a transformation taking place. I'm no longer just Tom, I'm a creature of the night, ready to unleash my inner monster on Scott's party.
