First Mission (Chapter 11)

(Y/n) POV

Crow: HURRY! HURRY!

(Y/n): I am hurrying dammit!

I say breathlessly, I have been running for the whole day, it's quite tiresome, yesterday I finally been assigned my first mission, and to meet up with this Giyu Tomioka guy, but all i've been doing thus far has been running. I haven't even gotten a break since i left since my crow would always peck me awake again and again. 

A while ago we reached a mountain, there was so much snow on the ground, it really reminded me of home, it felt good, the soft crunch under my feet after every step i take as i run, it felt like when i was younger, getting firewood with my dad for the harsher winters. A few hours after nightfall I finally arrived in the village I was supposed to and look around.

(Y/n): Where is the demon, or this Giyu person?

Crow: Tomioka is en route and will arrive in the morning, I cannot tell where the demon is at the moment, so you will have to survey the area.

I nod and walk over to a building, jumping up to grab the roof and pull myself on top of it, starting to run along the tops of roofs of the houses, looking around every area I possibly can, checking behind fences, in yards, and around lights but nothing, not even a track on the ground to be spotted.

(Y/n): I don't see anything, not even a sign that a demon was ever here... you sure theres supposed to be a demon here?

Crow: Yes! Yes! There is a demon here!

I let out a quiet sigh as i keep looking around.

(Y/n): Well where is it then? I've checked everywhere in the village except inside of peoples houses, but none of the doors have been left open, meaning a demon probably wasn't there, so where the hell could this thing be?

After hours of searching and searching, the sun starts to rise, meaning my chances of finding this demon have practically diminished. Letting out a deep and defeated sigh, i sit down on the edge of the roof, looking over the village as people start to leave their houses.

(Y/n): Where the hell could this thing have gone

Unknown: do you think it could be up the mountain? 

I jolt in surprise after hearing the soft voice behind me, causing me to fall off the roof.

(Y/n): Who the hell are you?! How did you sneak up on me!?

The man just tilts his head at me, he has long black hair up in a ponytail, wearing a mismatched haori, one half a deep red, and the other a green and yellow pattern, I can't get a good look at his face since im just staring at him while hes on the roof and im on the ground.

Unknown: Are you coming with? your a demon slayer right?

(Y/n): Yeah... I am one

Unknown: I see, What rank are you, what is your name and breathing technique?

(Y/n): Ahm.. Im (Y/n) (L/n), im a Mizunoto and I use water breathing. 

I say as i jump back up and try to get back up onto the roof.

(Y/n): Now you gotta answer my question, who are you and how did you sneak up on me?

The man just looks at me as if he was puzzled, his deep blue eyes seeming unfocused and emotionless.

Unknown: Well... you were just sitting there, and I didn't really try to sneak up on you, I was being somewhat loud, but you are clearly pretty new to this
