Chpt 14: Damn Extras

𝕊𝕠𝕟𝕘 𝕣𝕖𝕔𝕠𝕞𝕞𝕖𝕟𝕕𝕒𝕥𝕚𝕠𝕟: 𝕃𝕖𝕤 - ℂ𝕙𝕚𝕝𝕕𝕚𝕤𝕙 𝔾𝕒𝕞𝕓𝕚𝕟𝕠

2nd person POV:

Upon the news of the UA sports festival, everyone had burst into excitement and chatter, except for you, you had no idea what the so called festival even was.

"Lets go kick some ass!-" Kirishima began, before being cut off by Kaminari putting a hand on his face. 

"Wait a second.." Kaminari kept his hand on Kirishima's face as he sat down, and Jirou spoke up. "Is it really a good idea to hold the festival just after villains snuck inside? They could attack while we're in the one place."

"Apparently" Aizawa sighed, obviously in agreement that it wasn't a good idea, "the administration thinks this is a good way to show that the threat has been handled and our school is safer than ever, plus, their beefing up security compared to past years. This event is an opportunity for all students at UA, it's not something we can just cancel because of a few villains."

"Sorry but why not, whats the deal with this thing anyway, it's just a festival?" You finally managed to ask what actually was the festival, since it seemed to be a bigger deal than you thought.

"But Y/n, don't you know how important this competition is?" You turned around to face Midoriya, who was sitting behind Bakugo and giving you a confused look. You simply just shrugged your shoulders, really having no clue what it was about.

"Our sports festival is one of the most watched events in the entire world, in the past everyone obsessed over the Olympic games, but then quirks started appearing. For anyone who cares about competition, there's really only one event that matters: The UA sports festival." Mr Aizawa's explanation had help make some sense of the situation, though it didn't clear everything up.

So it's just like Olympics, but with quirks?

"That's correct," Yaoyorozu agreed, "The top heroes everywhere will be watching, this is where you get scouted.

 Ah, so no pressure then..

"She's right! After graduating alot of people join pro agencies as a sidekick!" Denki chimed in.

 "Yeah but that's as far as some people go, they miss their chance to go beyond and stay internal sidekicks-actually that's probably where your headed, kinda dumb" Jirou retorted from beside him. You rolled your eyes at her continuous attacks on Denki's ego, but kept your mouth shut, after all the best way to learn is through pain, no matter to your ego, mentally or physically...

Right?

"It's true that many heroes will be watching, and if you want to go pro in the future this event could open up a path for that. Once chance a year, three chances in a lifetime-no aspiring hero can afford to miss this festival. You all better not slack of on training." Aizawa concluded.

Aspiring hero? That got you thinking.

 One of the huge reasons you took the place here was to escape the ZTC and become your own person without Zankoku or anyone else breathing down your neck all the time. Sure you said you wanted to be a hero in the spur of the moment, but now you have time to really think. 

Your whole life had been the complete opposite of a heroes morals, you had seen things that would traumatise a grown man, hell you had done things to traumatise a grown man. So what?  Were you just supposed to graduate and save people? There was a lot to think about....but you tried to shake it off and come back to it later, like you always did with your problems.
