Radhika's POV:

I was at my desk, pretending to work, but in reality, I was going through my bucket list. I had this habit of adding silly, impossible things to it, never thinking they'd come true. But recently, I’d been ticking off more than a few.

3. Living with him while doing a job.
I grinned and put a tick emoji next to it. Done.

4. Going on a romantic date with him.
Well, last night surely counted. Another tick.

5. Making out in theatre.
My cheeks flushed at the memory of yesterday night. Tick!

I was just about to read the 6th one when—

"Radhika!" Samar’s voice startled me from behind. I quickly closed the list, feeling my heart jump in my chest. He leaned over my desk with that boyish grin. "Aren't you hungry, love ?" he asked, his tone teasing.

My face was burning, not just from the surprise but also because I was still stuck on my bucket list. I nodded, avoiding his gaze, but of course, Samar noticed.

He sat down across from me, taking my hands gently in his. “Are you okay? Fever hai kya? Why is your face so red?”

I swallowed, trying to keep my composure. His eyes, warm and inviting, held mine in place. His lips—oh god, those lips. My mind raced back to last night, to the way they felt against mine. I could barely concentrate.

Just as I was about to say something—anything—to distract myself, we heard a voice from behind.

“I knew it!”

Samar and I whipped our heads around to see Reyansh standing there, smirking like he’d just won the lottery.

"I knew you guys had something going on," Reyansh said, crossing his arms. “It became crystal clear when he shouted ‘she’s mine’ in the club.”

Samar and I exchanged a glance, his hand still holding mine firmly. He stood up, facing Reyansh with a possessive look in his eyes.

She is my girl,” Samar said, his voice calm but firm. “So you better behave, okay?”

Reyansh chuckled, raising his hands in surrender. "Yess, yess, dude, relax." His smirk didn’t fade, but he didn’t push any further. "No hard feelings, man."

I stood up too, trying to stifle a laugh at how serious Samar was acting. Reyansh was clearly just teasing, but Samar was in full protective mode.

With the tension now diffused, we all headed out for lunch together. Samar kept close to me, his hand resting at the small of my back, making sure everyone knew where I stood—right beside him. And honestly, I loved every second of it.

As we walked, I couldn’t help but smile to myself, thinking about that bucket list. Turns out, sometimes life gives you more than you ever dared to wish for.

Samar’s POV:

We were all gathered at the table, laughing and eating lunch. Radhika was sitting next to me, her presence enough to keep me at ease despite the chaos of the office day.

Every now and then, I’d glance at her while she was talking to Reyansh, smiling that heart-stopping smile of hers, and I couldn’t help but feel an overwhelming sense of pride. She was mine now, and the world needed to know it.

But as the day wore on and we got back to work, I noticed something else. Every time I looked over at her, someone else’s eyes were on me. Aanya, sitting a few seats away, was practically drooling.

Maybe she didn’t  get the idea about us yet. I could see her stealing glances at me, thinking I hadn’t noticed. She looked like she was building up the courage to come over.

And then, as if on cue, Aanya stood up and made her way toward me. She asked for help with something on her screen, her voice shy, and she was blushing for no reason at all.

I was just explaining the task, but her attention wasn’t on the work—it was on me. Her eyes were glued to my face, and it made me uncomfortable.

I felt Radhika’s gaze burning into me, and when I looked in her direction, I saw her fuming.

Her expression was controlled, but I could tell her patience was wearing thin. She wasn’t the type to share what was hers, and I loved that about her.

Suddenly, without a word, Radhika stood up and walked out of the room.

My heart dropped. She didn’t say anything, but I knew exactly what she was feeling—jealousy. And I didn’t blame her. Aanya was out of line, and it was driving Radhika crazy.

I quickly finished explaining to Aanya, not wanting to drag this out any longer than it needed to be. As soon as I was done, I left her standing there and went after Radhika.

I found her outside, taking in some fresh air, her arms crossed, staring at the sky as if trying to calm herself down.

I approached her slowly, knowing she’d probably lash out at me.

Radhika…” I called her name softly, but she didn’t turn around. I could see the tension in her shoulders, and I knew I had to fix this.

I stepped closer and wrapped my arms around her from behind, pulling her into my chest. She stiffened at first, but then slowly relaxed into my embrace.

She means nothing,” I whispered into her ear, my lips brushing against her hair. “You know that, right?”

She didn’t say anything at first, but I could feel her letting go of some of that anger. Finally, she sighed, leaning back against me.

I know,” she muttered, “but I don’t like seeing other girls drooling over you.”

I smiled, turning her around to face me. “Well, you don’t have to worry about that. You’re the only one I see. The only one I want.”

She looked up at me, her eyes softening, and I could see the tension fading away. I leaned down and kissed her forehead, pulling her closer, as if reminding her that I was always hers—forever.

Always.
