Xiao Yuan could feel the anger blazing inside him, the humiliation and pain fueling his frustration.
He couldn't stand to witness the uncertainty in Wei Qian's eyes, the way he seemed to struggle to understand his own feelings. The weight of it all was too much, too overwhelming. And so, without a second thought, he turned away, pushing past Wei Qian, determined to escape the intensity of the moment and the vulnerability that hung thick in the air between them.
"Wait! Wei Zhiyuan!"
Suddenly, Xiao Yuan felt a tug at his hand. Wei Qian's grip was firm, an unexpected anchor that pulled him back, halting his steps. The unexpected contact sent a shockwave through him, freezing him in place. He slowly turned and looked down at the warm hand holding onto his, his breath hitching in his throat.
He was almost afraid to look up, to see the expression on Wei Qian's face.
But slowly, almost against his will, Xiao Yuan's gaze travelled upward, his eyes locking onto Wei Qian's. The sight of him standing there, eyes unwavering and intent, sent a shiver down his spine.
In Wei Qian's eyes, Xiao Yuan found steadiness, which shone with a newfound conviction. Not the confusion or hesitation that had been there moments ago, but a fierce determination, a need that cut through the fog of uncertainty.
It was like a lifeline, something solid in the chaotic storm of emotions that swirled between them.
A lifeline he had been yearning for years.
A lifeline he was shunned away from for four years.
A lifeline he decided to take and everything else be damned.
He felt the anger and hurt begin to ebb, replaced by something raw and undeniable. He could feel the pull of that gaze, the strength in Wei Qian's hold. It grounded him, drew him in, and in that moment, Xiao Yuan knew he couldn't walk away.
Not now.
Not ever.
"Do you know what this means?"
Despite the lack of verbal response, Wei Qian's gaze did not falter even a little bit.
"This is the first time you've ever caught me," Xiao Yuan said softly, his voice tinged with a mix of disbelief and a longing that had been buried for far too long.
Xiao Yuan watched Wei Qian's eyes, never leaving Xiao Yuan, held a quiet determination, anchoring them in that slender alley, suspended in a moment as delicate as it was everlasting.
Now is the time to leave me, Gē if you are not sure.
Xiao Yuan's heart raced as he thought, each beat echoing the fierce, unspoken desire coursing through him and all he wanted was to close the distance, to inhale the same air that Wei Qian breathed, to feel the hardness of Wei Qian's body against his and to feel the softness of Wei Qian's lips against his.
The urge to kiss him, to finally bridge the gap between them, was almost unbearable. Like a physical ache within him, a need that threatened to consume him if he didn't give in to it.
His breath quickened, his chest tightening with a longing he could no longer suppress as he looked at those plump, strong lips.
He wanted Wei Qian.
He needed him.
He wanted to claim him.
The years of pent-up emotion, of concealing his feelings, all surged to the surface, a tidal wave of longing and desire that overwhelmed him with their sheer force.
