Chapter 34: ((Robotniks Revenge))

Aylin cracked her back having to sit on the metal floor for a while. Looking at her phone somehow again having service and wanting to brighten her mood, she chose an upbeat song.

Rouge comes by and hears the song meanwhile Shadow seems to hear it too but he is still in the background.

Later in the Space Colony ARK, Shadow is looking out the viewport, while Aylin is sitting next to him after that encounter everything is awkward again there is complete silence. Aylin wonders what else is going on with him. Sonic's shuttle is soon visible among the asteroids outside.

Shadow: Here comes your friend.

Aylin gasped, stood up, and looked at the window.

Aylin: Sonic is coming!

Her mood brightened again.

Shadow: He'd be a fool to challenge me.

Aylin: that's not true any robot he faces he always wins

Shadow: You'll see I'm right. This is one battle your friend cannot win.

Aylin went silent as they both looked out in the window

Aylin: (whispers) I have faith in him......

Shadow seems to hear and gives her a look but it seems deep down he is feeling something else but a feeling he doesn't understand, continues to look at the window with his usual expression

While Knuckles was dealing with Rouge, the others were dealing with Eggman and his stooges which resulted in Sonic getting trapped in a tube and Eggman demanding the chaos emerald however Eggman backtracked that and sent Sonic down. Meanwhile, Aylin and Shadow were watching from the viewpoint seeing the escape pod then it exploded. Aylin looks on with shock.

Shadow: Your friend could not save himself.

Aylin: your....your saying Sonic was there?

Aylin doesn't believe him.

Shadow: Yes, I'm afraid he was. Perhaps Sonic was not the great hero you thought him to be.

That statement basically sets Aylin off, tears shed from her eyes down to her cheek, Shadow looks at her seeming to might regret that comment, and is about to hold her hand.

Aylin: don't

She turns to him with a serious and heartbroken face.

Aylin: It can't be him I know he wouldn't just....die he is always there. I can't believe this I will never accept it...you may want revenge on the world but let me tell you I'm not from this world but even if I'm not a person born there I can tell you that I care about the people, it shouldn't end like this.

Aylin is about to head out of the room when Shadow grabs her hand.

Aylin: let go. I need to be alone

Shadow lets go and nods but he looks away not wanting his emotion to slip in front of her. She is out of the room. Shadow holds the ring she had given him it seems there was something in his heart that broke him but doesn't understand it, soft tears seem to be coming down. Why is he crying? What's going on with him? He quickly hides it by wiping them off. He replaced his feelings with his usual stoic look but it seems now he is in deep thought.
