The morning at school began as usual: the bell rang, there was running in the hallways, and the joyful voices of children filled the classrooms. Sophie smiled as she watched her students take their seats, whispering to each other and sharing news after the weekend. She greeted each of them, delighting in their energy and curiosity. But today she was expecting a special meeting.

The classroom door opened, and in the doorway appeared a little girl with chestnut hair neatly tied in a ponytail. She stood uncertainly at the threshold, holding her mother's hand. It was Sam — Rachel's daughter. Sophie smiled, trying to dispel the girl's anxiety.

— Good morning, Sam! — she said cheerfully. — Welcome to our class. I am your new teacher, Miss Sophie. We are so happy to see you!

Sam smiled shyly and tightened her grip on Rachel's hand. Her big eyes scanned the classroom with interest, full of curiosity and a hint of anxiety. Rachel gently hugged her daughter, leaning down.

— Don't worry, darling, everyone here will be your friends. Miss Sophie is a wonderful teacher, she said, encouraging her daughter. — I'll pick you up after class, and we'll go home together.

Sam slowly let go of her mother's hand and timidly approached Sophie. Sophie took her by the hand and led her into the classroom.

— You can sit here, next to Emma. "She is very friendly and will gladly show you everything," Sophie said, pointing to the empty seat.

Sam sat down at the desk, and Emma immediately started showing her her pencils and notebooks. Sophie watched them with joy, seeing how the girl gradually relaxed and began to engage in the conversation.

The lessons flew by unnoticed, and now the bell has rung, signaling the end of the school day. The children started gathering, packing their things into their backpacks. Sam approached Sophie and smiled.

— Thank you, Miss Sophie. I liked it here.

Sophie smiled in response.

— I'm glad you liked it, Sam. See you tomorrow!

At that moment, Rachel entered the classroom, smiling as she watched her daughter. Sophie approached her, wanting to share her impressions.

— Rachel, Sam is really smart. "She blended in beautifully with the class and found common ground with the other kids," Sophie said, looking at Sam with warmth.

Rachel breathed a sigh of relief.

— Thank you, Sophie. I was so worried about how she would adjust to the new school. It's so important to me that she feels comfortable.

— Don't worry, Rachel. Sophie assured her, "Sam will succeed, she's a wonderful girl."

Rachel looked thoughtfully at Sophie, then smiled.

— You know, Sam's birthday is next week. We are planning to have a small celebration at our home. It would be great if you could come. And you'll finally meet Alex.

Sophie felt a warm wave of joy and was slightly surprised by the invitation:

— Thank you, Rachel. This will be wonderful. I will gladly come.

— And one more thing, Sophie, — Rachel looked thoughtful, as if she were contemplating something important. — Do you know any good photographers? I would like us to have beautiful photos from Sam's birthday.

Sophie immediately thought of Nigel. His skill in photography had impressed her many times, and she knew that he would be able to make this day special.

— Actually, I know one. My friend Nigel is a photographer. He works at a fashion magazine and takes absolutely stunning photos. I think he will be happy to help.

Rachel was delighted.

— That would be wonderful! Thank you, Sophie. You are simply a treasure. Let's agree that he will come. I am sure that he will make this day unforgettable for Sam.

They said their goodbyes, and Rachel and Sam left the classroom, leaving Sophie with a feeling of pleasant anticipation. Meeting with Rachel and Sam, the upcoming holiday, getting to know Alex — all of this felt like the beginning of something new and exciting.
