Alex was finishing up his work at the office when his phone unexpectedly rang. The name of his wife — Rachel — appeared on the screen. He answered before the ringing stopped.

— Hi, Rachel, — Alex said, tired but focused. — What happened?

— Hi, Alex, — Rachel replied. — I wanted to remind you to pick up Sam from the rink after class. I'm taking my time choosing a gift for her birthday.

Alex glanced at the clock and nodded. Time was really pressing. He quickly finished his tasks, got ready, and left the office. Getting into his black luxury car, he headed to the ice rink, trying not to think about the day's difficulties.

Alex was a 35-year-old man with deep, dark eyes that reflected his determination and inner strength. His thick dark hair was neatly trimmed, which emphasized his sternness and serious approach to life. Alex's appearance, slim and athletic, was elegantly complemented by tailored suits in dark shades that highlighted his confidence and status.

— Dad! — Sam exclaimed joyfully, interrupting his thoughts. — I'm so glad you came!

Alex, coming to his senses, turned to his daughter and smiled.

— Hi, Sam. How did the class go?

Sam pulled him along with her:

— Everything was great!

Sam noticed that her father's gaze was fixed on the rink, and following his line of sight, she saw a girl gliding gracefully across the ice. Sam's smile widened when she realized it was her teacher.

— Dad, you're looking at Sophie! — said Sam, — She's my new teacher. She rides so well, doesn't she?

Alex turned to his daughter and nodded, slightly surprised.

— It's true, she really looks incredible. Is it true that she is your teacher?

Sam continued enthusiastically:

— Yes! I just started going to school, but I already love its lessons. She is very kind and always helps us when something doesn't work out.

Alex looked at Sophie again, this time with much more interest. He was impressed not only by her skill on the ice but also by the way his daughter spoke about her.

— That's wonderful, — Alex said, smiling. — So, you really have a good time at school and here.

Sam nodded.

— Yes, and I think Sophie will be happy to see you; she will come to my birthday. She is always so friendly.

Alex glanced at the rink again, where the girl continued to skate, and thought he would be happy to meet Sophie in person. Today he was struck not only by his time with his daughter but also by an unexpected and amazing discovery that left him completely thrilled.
