After a busy and emotional week, filled with new meetings and plans, Saturday morning brought the long-awaited feeling of tranquility. Sophie decided to spend the day at the ice rink, as she had made it her habit every week. She always found skating to be the perfect way to relax and relieve tension.
It was cool outside, but sunny, which made the morning air particularly fresh. Sophie quickly got dressed in her tracksuit, grabbed her sports bag, and headed to the ice rink.
Sophie remembered her first encounter with figure skating as if it were yesterday. On the day she turned seven, winter was just beginning to envelop the city in a blanket of snow. In the neighborhood where Sophie spent her early years, there was a small outdoor ice rink that transformed into a true paradise every winter for all who loved to skate.
On that special day, Sophie went to the ice rink with her grandmother, who looked at her with a smile on her face, full of pride and anticipation. Soft snowflakes continued to fall from the sky, covering the ice with a thin layer of powder. Looking at the sparkling icy surface, Sophie was struck by its beauty and magic. She remembered how her eyes lit up with delight when she first saw the ice sparkling under the winter sun.
Sophie was determined to learn how to skate. At first, her movements were awkward, and every step seemed difficult. The ice was slippery, and her first attempts were filled with falls and mistakes. However, Sophie did not give up. With each new fall, she got up with determination and perseverance; her desire to learn how to skate never faded.
Soon her efforts began to bear fruit. Gradually, she learned to maintain her balance, her movements became more confident and fluid. Soon she could glide on the ice, making smooth and graceful turns. Her joy and excitement from her first successes on the ice were boundless, and each new achievement only deepened her love for figure skating.
Sophie never forgot that feeling of freedom and satisfaction she experienced on the ice, and since then, skating became her passion and source of inspiration.
When Sophie approached the rink, she noticed that the ice was already ready for practice. The place was filled with cheerful noise — children and adults glided across the ice. Sophie quickly warmed up and soon stepped onto the ice, feeling how her skates glided effortlessly over the smooth surface.
Today her training plan was simple: to practice the elements and enjoy the process of skating. She chose a secluded corner of the rink where she could focus on her movements and let herself go. On the ice, her figure was graceful and confident, her movements smooth and rhythmic. Sophie felt her body fill with lightness and harmony.
Among the group of newcomers, she saw Sam, who was already training with the other kids. Sophie approached the girl. Sam, noticing her, smiled widely and waved.
— Hi, Sam! How do you like it here? "Do you enjoy skating?" Sophie asked with interest, sitting down at the edge of the rink.
Sam nodded happily, her eyes shining with joy.
— Yes, I really like it! It's fun here, and I've already learned a few new moves.
Sophie noticed how proud Sam was of her achievements, and her heart filled with joy for the girl.
— That's great! You look great on the ice. It's clear that you learn quickly.
Sam continued to skate with pleasure, and Sophie noticed that she was confidently staying on her skates, performing small elements.
— Mom went to pick out a birthday gift, and Dad will be here soon to pick me up, — Sam said, slightly shrugging her shoulders. — I'm so glad that I can ride here. It's like a little adventure!
Sophie smiled as she watched Sam joyfully share his impressions.
— That's wonderful, Sam. I am very pleased to see that you are so happy. I also love riding here.
Sam cheerfully continued her training, while Sophie, getting up to do her own exercises, thought about how important it was for Sam to have support and the opportunity to engage in what she loved. She was confident that with such persistence and passion, Sam would quickly become a true star of the rink.
Sophie was immersed in her skating practice, enjoying every movement and every moment on the ice. Her thoughts occasionally drifted back to the question of whether she would be able to see Alex today. She knew that he would come for Sammy and might show up at the rink.
However, absorbed in her own exercises, Sophie didn't notice how time flew by. She focused on her training, executing the elements with maximum grace and technique. Riding had become for her as pleasant and soothing an activity as it always had been.
When Sophie finally finished her training, she noticed that the rink had already emptied. All the children had been picked up by their parents, and now only a few latecomers were making use of the remaining ice. Sophie regrettably realized that she had missed the chance to see Alex. With a slightly sad but understanding look, Sophie gathered her things and headed for the exit, pondering that she might only see him for the first time at Samantha's birthday party. On that evening, despite missing the meeting, she still felt a sense of satisfaction from her workout and from being able to immerse herself in her favorite activity.
