Wednesday was designated as a special day — Sam's birthday. In the evening, a celebration was supposed to take place at Alex and Rachel's house. Sophie had known about this event for a long time, and her role in the preparation had been determined. One of the tasks was to arrange a photoshoot with Nigel.
In the morning, Sophie decided to tackle this issue. Nigel, her close friend and photographer, was known for his talents in fashion photography, but his skills were also perfectly suited for an event of this kind. Sophie dialed his number, and the phone call was soon answered by Nigel's cheerful voice.
— Hi, Nigel! — Sophie began when he answered. — How are you?
— Hi, Sophie! Everything is great, thank you. And how about you?
— That's good too, thank you. Listen, I have a request. On Wednesday evening, it will be Sam's birthday, and I thought it would be great if you could take photos of her celebration.
— Oh, that's a great idea! — Nigel responded enthusiastically. — I would gladly work on this. Where and at what time?
— The celebration will take place at Alex and Rachel's house, — Sophie explained. — In the evening, around 6 o'clock. Could you come a bit earlier to take some shots before the party starts?
— Of course, I will be there on time, — Nigel confirmed. —I will need to prepare and set up the equipment so that all the shots turn out perfect.
— Wonderful!" Sophie said with relief. — I am sure that you will make the celebration even more special.
They continued to discuss details such as the style of photography, key moments to capture, and other organizational matters. Sophie was glad that Nigel agreed to help, and she felt that it would add even more vibrant emotions to the festive evening.
After finishing the conversation, Sophie felt that everything was starting to fall into place. Now she just had to wait for the evening when the celebration would begin and see how Sam would enjoy her special day, surrounded by the care and attention of loved ones.
After lunch, Sophie got into her car and headed to the nearest sporting goods store. She wanted to choose something special for Sammy that would highlight their shared interests and bring joy to the girl. Sophie had long noticed how Sam's eyes sparkled when she found something new for figure skating practice. A gift related to this seemed like the best choice.
Parking near the store, Sophie went inside and immediately headed to the figure skating department. The soft light of the shop windows, the shine of the skates, and the bright colors of the sportswear made her smile. She walked slowly past the rows, carefully examining every detail.
The first thing that caught her attention was the cute skate covers. Some were adorned with fluffy pom-poms, while others featured images of figure skaters. Sophie chose a pair of pink glittery cases that she thought would be perfect for Sam. Then her gaze fell on a bright water bottle adorned with snowflakes and a figure skater. She thought it would be useful during training and would remind Sam of her love for skating every time she drank water.
Sophie continued to choose accessories: a soft towel with Sam's name embroidered on it, a small keychain in the shape of a figure skater that could be hung on a bag, and a set of colorful hair ties that the girl could use to create beautiful hairstyles for practice.
When the purchases were made, Sophie approached the checkout and, pleased with her choice, smiled. She imagined how happy Sam would be unwrapping the gifts. Sophie knew that for a girl who loved figure skating, such little things would matter greatly and would bring her joy and confidence on the ice.
With bags in her hands, Sophie left the store and headed to the car. She felt happy that she was able to do something nice for Sam, and she was sure that this birthday would be one of the most memorable for the girl.
