Hope's POV:
I pull up in front of Carrie's house and wait for her to come. I've offered to pick her up yesterday at the ice cream parlor.
"So we're gonna meet your mom at dinner?" Stu asks softly as he leans forward.
"You're meeting my mommy, Stu. Not mom. Mom is our mom. Get the names down dude. But yes you guys are. I hope you like her," I retort as I look at him.
He nods with a small smile. "Right. Sorry, Smiley," he says reaching over to squeeze my shoulder gently.
"I can't wait to meet her, Hopey. She's beautiful from the portraits you've made," Glenda spoke up excitedly and I smile softly at her.
"She is. A pure and beautiful woman that got dealt with a bad hand," I respond with my hand tightening around the steering wheel as I think of the abuse mommy had to endure to keep me safe from Dale.
I feel a hand set itself on my arm and I release the breath I was holding. I glance over finding Billy giving me a comforting look and he gives a soft squeeze.
"She looks like she would give the best hug. Does she?" Glen says then asks with a bright smile and I smile to myself as I think about that.
"Oh she gives the best hugs. Like mom's. It's like if she's trying to protect you from everything around you," I respond happily with a sigh.
"Sounds amazing," Billy states making me agree with a nod. It is amazing. Now that I've got her back, I don't think I'll be able to part with her again.
I perk up more when my mate comes out of her house. She's in overalls and I think she looks absolutely adorable.
I get out and hold the door open for her. "Good morning, Carrie. You look beautiful," I greet her softly with a smile.
She gives a small one with her cheeks turning pinkish. "T-thank you, Hope. You look p-pretty," she responds fiddling with the strap of her book bag.
"Why thank you. Here's your chariot," I say gesturing to my car with my hand and a playful grin. She lets out a small giggle before climbing in.
Her giggle fills my entire being with warmth. I climb in after her and shut my door. We put on our seatbelts before I begin our journey to school.
On the way we talked with Carrie or included her in our conversations. We all try to make her come out of her shell more.
I pull into the parking lot and park then turned off the car. "Alright time for this shi-. Time for school," I start to say then caught myself before I cuss in front of Carrie.
Stu snorts loudly and I get out then hold open the door for the others to get out. Once my taller brother gets out, I slap the back of his head.
He whines while rubbing the spot I hit. "Say anything about that I will knee you in the balls, Stu," I firmly tell him and he nods with a chuckle.
"Alright Smiley damn. No need to bruise my jewels," he responds covering himself with his hand and I smirk while closing my door then locked my car.
I hug the twins before we all go our separate ways to go to class. "H-how are you doing?" Carrie quietly asks as we walk into our class.
I give her a confused look. "I'm doing fine. Why do you ask?" I answer softly and take my seat next to her.
