'you can lean on my arm as you break my heart.'

the loud ringing of the phone echoed throughout the dorm and jeongin groaned, rolling over in his bed, patting around his bedside table to find the device.
once he found it, he sat up, yawning widely before checking the name, "channie". he smiled at the contact name and immediately picked up.
"hey channie!" he said happily, already feeling more awake at the sight of his crush calling him.
"hey innie," his voice was unsteady and laced with concern, jeongin furrowed his eyebrows at the tone, "um, have you seen jisung at all, like maybe after you guys left?" chan spoke fast. you could hear him pacing back and forth through the distorted crackle of the phone as his heavy footsteps hit the wooden floor.
"no- what? chan, what are you talking about? isn't he in his room? i haven't seen him since we dropped him round at yours." jeongin clambered out of bed hurriedly, clumsily pulling on a hoodie over his bare chest, "want me to come over and help look?"
"ah, yeah, but please don't tell felix, he'll freak out more than us." chan plopped down on the sofa with an exasperated sigh, drumming his fingers against the table.
"yeah, yeah, of course, i'm on my way." after chan muttered a quiet thank you, jeongin hung up.
he quickly slipped his shoes on and quietly shut the door, being careful not to wake his roommate up.
he rushed to chan's room and knocked, rather harshly, on the door. it opened almost immediately and chan ushered the younger inside.
"you can check his room." chan spoke, running a hand over his face and letting out a stressed sight.
jeongin quickly walked over to the boys room and opened it slowly. sure enough, it was empty. his suitcase was lazily chucked in the middle of his room with a few items of clothes strewn next to it. he had piles of books and papers on the desk, a pen in the middle with the lid off and bite marks on it, showing he had been chewing it.
the youngest walked around the barren room. he stumbled upon a teddy sitting on the bed, it was your usual brown bear, but its arms were stretched out as though it were asking for a hug and on its tummy held the words, "worlds best son", in a heart shape. jeongins chest warmed looking at the object.
he ran a hand through his hair as he came back to his senses, breaking his eyes away from the teddy and walking out the room.
chan was sitting rather stiff on the sofa when the younger came into the main living area.
jeongin was about to suggest places they could look when he suddenly remembered something. him and jisung had exchanged numbers in biology. he quickly scrambled to find his phone, immediately clicking on jisung's contact name once he'd got a hold of the device.
"what are you doing?" chan asked, finally looking up from where his eyes were trained to the floor.
"i just remembered that i have jisung's number, i'm calling him now." as jeongin finished his sentence, the phone was picked up.
jisung's timid voice sounded through the crackle of the phone, "hello?" he asked.
"hi!" jeongin jumped in excitement that jisung had picked up, "hi, jisung, it's jeongin." the boy on the other line made a noise of recognition and jeongin took that as a sign to carry on talking, "where are you?"
"i'm, um, at a friends place." he spoke in an unsure voice.
"who? when did you leave? why did you leave without telling anyone? are you safe?" jeongin fired questions at the older boy and jisung was slightly overwhelmed by it all, it felt like he was being told off.
