'you know that i'd just die to make you proud.'

the only thing jisung did the next day was study. he didn't leave his room once which worried his roommate a little, he only came out to eat or use the bathroom.
he looked tired and large dark circles resided under his eyes. chan didn't ask him about it though, he didn't think they were close enough to discuss things that could potentially be extremely personal.
finally, monday rolled around and both boys got up early to leave for school.
felix had texted jisung to meet him and jeongin by their dorm, which jisung agreed to.
the boy was slightly nervous for today, he had the same class that he met minho and, although he was happy because he would be able to see minho again, he was weary of the girl who had threatened him. would she know that they spent the first half of the weekend together? would she follow up with her threat? would she make minho stay away from him? would she tell him something that would make him want to stay away from jisung?
jisung snapped out of his thoughts when he realised that he was standing in front of jeongin and felix's dorm.
he knocked timidly and not even a second later, the door swung open.
he was caught off guard when felix brought him into a suddenly tight embrace. he hadn't even had time to process anything before felix pulled away.
"ready for today?" felix asked, seeming strangely cheerful as he slung his backpack over one shoulder.
"um...y-yeah." jisung lied with a soft smile that didn't reach his eyes.
jeongin appeared at the door and pushed felix out the way to step into the hallway. once again his hair was messy and his eyes were half closed.
"hi ji!" he grinned, gently patting the boys shoulder, a stark contrast to how he'd treated felix only a few seconds ago.
felix only scoffed at his change in attitude before signalling for them to get going.
jeongin and felix talked about the school drama with jeongin excitedly re-enacting what happened in his korean class when the teacher had left the room for a few minutes.
jisung zoned out for the whole thing, only zoning back in when the two boys attempted to include him, though eventually they realised he didn't really want to talk and left him to his thoughts, every now and then checking if he was still with them.
they quickly reached school and met up with changbin who greeted felix with a kiss and jeongin gagged dramatically.
jisung giggled at this but managed to hide it with a tiny cough.
the first few periods seemed to drag on and on. yes, jisung had felix and jeongin to help him bare with it, but the boy had already done further reading for the lessons and knew the material for the class so it was very tiresome for him.
last period eventually came around. jisung was dreading this class for the whole day. he secretly hoped that the girl from last time wasn't in school today, but of course, luck wasn't on his side.
minho wasn't in yet, he was probably late.
the harsh glare from the girl was all that jisung could think about.
he chewed his lip anxiously and his leg bounced up and down. he thought back to when he'd first met minho and recalled that he didn't like it when he bit his lips, so he let the relentless grip his teeth had on them loosen.
jisung knew the girl was about to turn around and say something. the teacher wasn't there to stop her.
his assumptions were correct.
almost as soon as he sat down, she swivelled around on her chair to face him.
her hair was neatly pulled into two plaits that lay over each shoulder. her makeup was fairly natural, with only a little mascara being used to enhance her eyelashes, her lips were glossed and her nails tapped lightly against his desk.
jisung wouldn't deny that she was beautiful, but she wasn't his type for obvious reasons.
"so..." she leant her head on the palm of her hand, chewing her gum rather loudly, "what's with you and minho?" she asked, raising an eyebrow.
before jisung could even open his mouth to answer, she began speaking again, "i meant it when i said you should stay away from him. i really wouldn't be happy if i saw you together. i'll let this lesson slide because you sit next to each other but if i see you interacting...it won't be pretty. i'm kim hana by the way." she gave a mocking smile that didn't reach her eyes, before sending the boy a flying kiss and turning back around to talk with the students around her.
jisung felt little tears brimming his eyes as he stared down at his desk, picking at his nails.
he thought back to what yoonchae had told him. that if he was ever in trouble with that girl, he could always confide in her.
no...he didn't want to burden her like that.
the best thing to do was to stay away from minho, that way, he could avoid hana, stop burdening minho and possibly help minho get a girlfriend. that would be sweet. it would hurt, but, oh, how sweet would minho's smile be when he got a girlfriend.
in some strange, twisted way, jisung wished he could be that girlfriend for minho, but it wasn't possible and getting to look at minho's smile was all that really mattered to the younger.
the bell rung, snapping jisung out of this thoughts as the teacher walked in right on time.
what had he even been thinking?
