My fluttered open as I felt the warmth of the late morning. The sun was high up the sky with the sound of birds chirping and leaves dancing with the rhythm of the wind.

I groaned before fully opening my eyes, wondering who the heck ruined my sleep by opening the curtains.

Expecting my mother or sister, I turned around, only to find my best friend.

"Lesley." I groaned upon seeing the girl who ruined the beauty sleep.

"Get the fuck up, it's 11 in the morning." Lesley said, taking the blanket that covered my body.

"11?!" I asked, standing up straightly even though I felt like going back to sleep.

"Yes, 11. And don't you have to go to Rhina's shop by 12?" Lesley said, reminding me that my work had officially started on Sunday.

"Holy fuck-" I said, getting up from my bed as I stretched and yawned as I did so.

"Why are you here anyways?" I asked Lesley, who was now sitting in my bed.

"Don't know, I was just bored. I was thinking that maybe I could come with you to see Ceina." She said, but I could notice a small blush covering her cheeks.

I raised an eyebrow, "And are you seeing Ceina?" I asked.

Ceina was my co-worker, AKA Rhina's niece. Rhina was the owner of the Flower Shop I worked at. I helped her with the shop since she's an old lady. I think she's about 62 and she didn't have children. We knew each other since we were neighbours but she went back to her house in summer. She had always thought of me as her own child and she had been like a mother figure to me since my mother basically cared shit about me.

Rhina was half Italian and half American, she married the same type of race as her but her husband passed away due to cancer. So Ceina came around to visit her.

"I don't know...This honestly feels so stupid..." She said, unsure of what to say next.

I nodded, "I get that. You shouldn't give up trying though, who knows whether y'all get together?" I said, shrugging.

Lesley smiled slightly, "Maybe..." She said, and she seemed to be trialing into thoughts as I just left her there to get to my bathroom.

I quickly did my morning routine since I believe that I do not have much time left.

Then I got out to change into a simple outfit, a red knitted sweater with a pair of light washed jeans. It was getting cold outside since it was the start of the Fall season.

I did a simple makeup look since I didn't like heavy makeup, it makes me hot and I hate hotness. That's why I despise summers.

I put a navy blue beanie on my head since the air was getting colder so I needed to be as cozy as possible. I also picked out a beige tote bag which went perfectly with my outfit.

I found Lesley on the bed, laughing as she scrolled through what seemed to be TikTok.

"Are you just gonna lay there? I'm going right now." I said, throwing a pillow at Lesley.

She rolled her eyes and got up, rubbing the side of her head where the pillow was thrown at.

"I'm coming, okay? Chill out." She said, trialing off behind me as I went to the front door.

I didn't need to worry about Lily since our mother took her out somewhere and messaged me that they would be back a bit late.

Lesley and I got into the car and Lesley looked way too eager to meet a certain someone.
