The night was dark and stormy, the perfect backdrop for a villain's plot to unfold. Y/n stood at the center of an abandoned warehouse, the dim light from flickering bulbs casting shadows over her form. Her power crackled in her fingertips, a dangerous energy that pulsed with every thought. She had big plans, plans that involved chaos, destruction, and proving a point to a world that had long forgotten her.

But, of course, nothing ever went according to plan when "he"was involved.

Peter Maximoff,, leaned casually against a nearby wall, watching her with his trademark smirk. His silver hair gleamed under the dim light, and his leather jacket clung to his figure as he lazily twirled a piece of gum in his mouth. He looked like he was barely paying attention, but she knew better. The guy was always ready to move at the speed of light.

"You're really going to do this, huh?" he asked, pushing off the wall and strolling toward her. His movements were deceptively slow, he liked to toy with time, especially when he found something amusing.

Y/n narrowed her eyes, her fingers tightening around the energy she held. "I don't see why not. You've never understood what it feels like, have you? To be ignored, dismissed, treated like you're nothing until you're something dangerous."

Peter raised an eyebrow, still not taking her threat seriously. "Oh, trust me. I get it. Been there, done that, got the T-shirt," he said, snapping his fingers for emphasis as he appeared suddenly at her side. His speed left a gust of wind that tousled her hair. "But blowing up a power grid? That's just... cliché. I expected something more creative from you."

She took a step back, annoyed by how nonchalant he was. "You don't know me."He paused, tilting his head, his eyes finally softening as he really looked at her. "Maybe not. But I know what it's like to feel like you're stuck in a world that doesn't see you. Trust me, I've been running my whole life. It's exhausting."

Y/n hesitated, her hand lowering ever so slightly. "Why should I listen to you? You're just some kid with daddy issues, pretending to be a hero."

Peter flinched at that, but the grin never left his face. "Touché," he said with a chuckle. "But come on, Y/n. You're not as bad as you're pretending to be, are you? If you were, I wouldn't be able to do... this."

Before she could blink, he was behind her, disarming her of the energy she had gathered in her hands with a light tap. Her powers flickered out, and she stumbled forward, caught off guard by his speed. He stood in front of her again, holding out his hand like he was offering her a way out.

"You don't have to do this," he said, quieter this time. His silver eyes softened, and for the first time, Y/n saw past the cocky exterior. There was something vulnerable underneath, something that resonated with her. They weren't so different after all. Both misunderstood, both fighting battles no one else could see.

"I... I don't know what else to do," she admitted, her voice barely a whisper.

Peter took a step closer, closing the gap between them. "Yeah, you do. You just don't want to admit it. But hey, that's okay. We've all got our thing. Wanna know mine?"

Y/n raised an eyebrow, still unsure of how serious he was. "What?"

He grinned, leaning in just a little closer. "I'm really, really bad at ignoring cute villains."

She blinked, feeling heat rise to her cheeks despite herself. "Are you flirting with me?"

"Maybe," he shrugged. "Is it working?"

Y/n bit her lip, the tension between them shifting from antagonistic to something else entirely. She hated how easily he disarmed her, literally and emotionally. But in that moment, she couldn't deny the connection they shared."You're a fool" she muttered, but her tone had softened, her hands lowering completely as she felt the fight draining out of her.

Peter winked. "Yeah, but I'm your fool now. How about we go grab some burgers and figure out what you're really mad about?"

She couldn't help it, she laughed. It wasn't the reaction she'd planned for this night, but nothing ever went as planned when it came to Peter. Maybe that was okay. Maybe it was time to stop running, to stop fighting against the current and see where this new, unexpected path would take her.

"Fine," Y/n said, shaking her head. "But if you annoy me, I'm zapping you.""Deal," he said, and before she could protest, he grabbed her hand, and in a flash, they were gone, leaving behind the warehouse, the darkness, and the past that had weighed them both down. And as the city blurred by in streaks of light, Y/n realized she wasn't so alone after all.
