"Where do you think we go when we die?" Sanha asked out loud breaking the comfortable silence between the two boys.
"Do you think we would go to Heaven or Hell? What if reincarnation is real and this is already my fifth life? Or what if none of this is real? What if we don't exist? Minhyuk, what do you think?" Sanha looked out to the lake as he spoke, never taking his eyes away from the water. The two boys had been outside most of the day and discussed whatever came to mind. This became routine to them, something to look forward to in their crappy situation.
Minhyuk sat in contemplation. Honestly, he had never thought about what comes after death, only that he wanted it to come sooner than later. But now Sanha's question has him thinking. Where do we go when we die? If anything, Minhyuk has always thought of death as being in eternal sleep. Forever at rest while nothing happened. No thoughts, no pain, nothing.
"I've never thought about where we go, but what to look forward to I guess. I like to think of death as an eternal sleep. Where you have no dreams, no thoughts. There's just nothing." A deep long sigh is heard from Sanha as he twists on the bench. He brings one of his legs to rest underneath him as he turns to face Minhyuk. The younger looked beautiful; that's the first thing Minhyuk noticed. The older boy felt himself get lost in Sanha's eyes; looking almost gold-like in the evening sun.
Minhyuk felt his heart skip a beat while a light heat spread up his neck, weird. In an instant, the older boy felt embarrassed quickly looking away from the younger deciding to play it off by softy laughing; just trying to hide his nervousness.
"Don't look at me like that Sanha." Minhyuk's voice was slightly shaky as he fought against the blush that was slowly creeping up his face. If he were to glance at the younger there was no saying what would happen to him. This was something weird and Minhyuk didn't understand how to comprehend the situation he was in. Lately, whenever he was with Sanha everything felt surreal. He couldn't help that his heart rate would slightly increase every time he was with the younger. He also couldn't fight off the redness that would take over his features.
"How are you able to do that?"
"Do what?" Minhyuk felt confused as he tried to calm his heart.
"Everything you say always sounds so poetic. Your words are beautiful and it keeps on surprising me." Adoration filled Sanha's voice as he looked at the older. Something that Minhyuk didn't pick up however as he was still slightly embarrassed by the whole ordeal. He didn't know how to explain what he felt for the younger, all he knew was he felt nervous.
"It's not that I try to sound poetic. I don't try to say beautiful words. I say what I feel." Minhyuk finally felt calm enough to look at the younger. Their eyes met and instantly Minhyuk felt as if he was mesmerized by the younger. How could he be so beautiful? No, beautiful isn't the right word. sanha looked like a celestial beauty, nothing could ever compare to him.
Something in Sanha's eyes changed. His adoration stayed, but something else stirred in his gold-like irises. Something that both confused and intrigued Minhyuk. Had the younger felt the exact way he had been feeling as of late? Were they both experiencing the same feelings whenever they were in each other's presence?
Slowly Minhyuk leaned in; never taking his eyes away from the purple-headed boy. Both Sanha and Minhyuk were mindlessly leaning into one another. Everything around them seemed to fade away leaving the two boys alone in their intimate moment. Each second that passed felt like a decade as they both tried to savor every second of what was happening. Their lips touched and everything in Minhyuk's body seemed to awaken. His first. This was his first kiss and he felt that it was perfect. Even though he was in the hospital with a boy as equally as fucked as he was, it felt right.
It almost felt too soon when both boys parted from the other; faces equally flushed and racing hearts. However, this perfect moment had to end quickly as a staff member came and tapped on Minhyuk's shoulder. The older boy turned around to see a woman who looked to be in her early twenties. She has shoulder-length blond hair and was on the shorter side. She gave Minhyuk what looked to be a forced smile before she spoke.
"You have visitors. They're in the lounge room waiting for you." Minhyuk was shocked, who could visit him? He knew his father wouldn't come to visit and his mother wouldn't dare go anywhere without her husband. His friends couldn't be there since he didn't tell them he was there. Curiosity filled him as he stood.
"Thank you, Ms. umm.....Han. Thank you, Ms.Han." After quickly reading her name tag, Minhyuk made his way from the bench to the inside of the hospital. As he walked down the narrow halls he pondered who could be waiting for him. He wasn't allowed much thought as he heard his name being called.
"Park Minhyuk is that you!" Kim Myungjun was loud wherever he went as he wasn't that attentive regarding his surroundings. The short male practically ran over to Minhyuk and brought his friend into a hug, something Minhyuk loathed but became accustomed to since the older male refused to take no for an answer.
"Jinwoo I found him!" From around the corner, another male peaked his head out from behind the wall before he calmly approached the two boys. Myungjun was still holding onto Minhyuk as if his life depended on it and Jinwoo slightly shook his head as he grabbed the oldest and gently pulled him off of Minhyuk. A small sigh left Jinwoo's lips as he looked at Minhyuk. Something resembling disappointment evident on his face.
"Minhyuk. We need to talk."
