"NO MOM! I'm not going to be a doctor!" I yelled at her during another argument
"YES. YOU ARE!" She yelled back. Fights like this weren't uncommon. They actually happened every day. Mom and her husband always wanted me to be a doctor. No matter how many times I tell them, I want to be a hero, they always shoot down the idea.

I storm out of the house, slamming the door and taking off. I inherited my dads wings and my mom's mind reading. My dad was a hero before he was killed. I was 14 when he died. After his death, mom married his best friend, Max. To be honest, I never liked him, and when he tried to be my "father figure," I full-on hated him.

I flew to my boyfriend, Alex's, house. When I got there, the door was locked, but I had a spare key. I opened the door and headed to his room. I heard noise coming from behind the door and when I opened it I gasped.

There was my boyfriend, but naked, on top of Shara, the captain of the cheerleaders.

"Alex?" My voice broke when I said his name. His and Shara's head shot up at the sound of my voice.
"Ari, I," he tried to explain himself.

My hand shot up to stop him, and I could feel a tear fall when I looked away. "Don't even try," I said as I walked out of the house.

I spread my wings and took off. More tears fall as I fly. I have no clue where I'm going, I just need to get away.

As I flew, I didn't notice the red ball of feathers not far behind me.

Hawks POV:

I was patrolling in my usual spot when I saw black feathers fly past me.

I followed it for a while, and when it landed, I saw a girl about my age. She had black wings with gold edges. I could see tears on her cheeks, but I couldn't see her eyes as her raven hair covered them.

Who is she?

She sniffed, and when I landed, her head shot up......

Her eyes were a golden amber, like they hid a golden dragon behind them,
