Jungkook stepped out into the night, seeking a distraction from the strange whispers in his mind. As he turned a corner, he collided with a familiar figure.

"Whoa, watch where you're going!" Jimin exclaimed, laughing.

Jungkook's eyes widened in surprise. "Jimin! What are you doing here?"

Jimin grinned mischievously. "I was just getting some late-night fried chicken. Want some?"

Jungkook chuckled, feeling a welcome reprieve from his eerie mood. "You know I do."

As they walked together, munching on crispy fried chicken, their conversation turned to their shared love of bad puns.

"Why did the scarecrow win an award?" Jimin asked, grinning.

"I don't know, why?" Jungkook replied, playing along.

"Because he was outstanding in his field!" Jimin exclaimed, bursting into laughter.

Jungkook groaned, chuckling. "That's corny, even for you."

Their banter continued, a lighthearted balm for Jungkook's frazzled nerves. But as they parted ways, Jungkook couldn't shake the feeling that his life was still teetering on the edge of something....

As they finished their fried chicken, Jimin clapped Jungkook on the back. "Come on, cuz. I'll walk you home."

Jungkook nodded, grateful for the company. As they strolled through the quiet streets, Jimin regaled him with more terrible puns, making Jungkook laugh and forget his worries.

When they reached Jungkook's house, Jimin followed him inside. In the living room, Yeonbeen, Jungkook's mom, beamed with a warm smile. "Jimin, dear! Come give your halmoni a hug!"

Jimin chuckled and opened his arms, embracing Yeonbeen tightly. "Hi, Halmoni! I missed you!"

Yeonbeen patted Jimin's back affectionately. "I missed you too, dear. You're always welcome here."

As they chatted, Jungkook smiled, feeling grateful for the loving atmosphere. Jimin's presence had lifted his spirits, and now, surrounded by family, he felt a sense of peace wash over him....

Yeonbeen and Haein strolled through the serene garden, surrounded by vibrant flowers and the soothing sounds of nature. They walked side by side, enjoying the warm sunshine and each other's company.

"Haein, I'm worried about Jungkook," Yeonbeen said, her voice barely above a whisper. "He's growing up, and he still doesn't know the truth about his father."

Haein's expression turned serious, his eyes clouding over. "I know, Yeonbeen. But we agreed it was for the best. Jongki's passing was... complicated. We didn't want Jungkook to grow up with the burden of that knowledge."

Yeonbeen nodded, her eyes misty. "I know. But sometimes I wonder if we're doing the right thing. He deserves to know the truth about his family."

Haein placed a reassuring hand on Yeonbeen's shoulder. "We'll tell him when the time is right. For now, let's just cherish the memories we have of Jongki and ensure Jungkook grows up happy and loved."

The conversation hung in the air, a mix of concern and conviction. Yeonbeen and Haein shared a knowing glance, both aware of the secret they kept hidden from Jungkook.

Yeonbeen's body shook with sobs as she remembered the feeling of Song Jongki's hand slipping out of hers. "He was supposed to stay with us... he promised me," she whispered, her voice trembling.
