AFTER SEVEN YEARS
" You love her. " my mom tells me, like she just made a discovery.
I shake my head with a smile before I sigh. " Love, is such a small word to describe what I feel for her. "
Listening to that statement my mother laughs as she pats on my shoulder, " Then, tell me sweetheart, how does she makes you feel? "
At that moment, the star dust glimmers in my eyes as I think about the answer to that question. " I see her and I get the purpose of the existence of my eyes. I listen her voice and my soul yearns for it. I touch her and my whole nervous system ignites. She touches me and my heart beats so fast, so fast that if it were a race, it would've definitely won. If this is called love mom? Then, yes. I'm in love with her. Hopelessly. Madly. "
My mom gives me a wide smile and kisses me on my cheek for some hundredth time that day.
" You know what Ervin Garfield! Love has struck you and it's going to be stuck with you till the end. This kinda love. It's of forever kind. I wish you two all the happiness. " she whispers and right then we all heard the orchestra begin to play.
She's here.
My hands are shaking. Tears were already on the verge. I still couldn't believe all this. All of it feels like a dream. She's a dream. An ethereal one. My mom wraps an arm around my back as I stood beside her at the end of the aisle, waiting for my bride.
The doors opened and the most beautiful girl in the whole universe walks out from it. She looks like an angel. She's an angel. White rose petals were showered on her as she makes her way on the aisle, to me.
She walks all the way to me and stands infront of me. I didn't realized I was crying rivers until she touches my cheeks and cleans them away. It felt all like a dream until she took my hands and held them in her's. And suddenly, it was all life and all too real for my body, to not believe, this is real.
I kiss her on forehead and embraced her in my arms.
And soon, the marriage vows were read out loud. They were traditional vows and also the vows we've added that we wanted to make to each other.
I was staring at her without a blink in those last few seconds, well I couldn't help it. She notices and smiles. It was impossible for her to ignore. I tighten our intertwined hands. " I think I've fallen in love with you, all over again, Red. Please, marry me. "
She chuckles before she leans and raises an eyebrow on my claim. " But aren't we friends? " she asks making an innocent face. I'm loving this, seeing her happy. Oh God, I love to see her this happy. After all those years what she's been through and after all that struggle to recover from it, she's finally happy.
" I don't want to risk our friendship but I can't spend another day not being totally yours from every aspect. " I replied.
" Are you willing to risk? " she teased.
I begin and she waits holding her nerves. " I'm willing to do everything to make this work. "
A pause.
" And I'm not risking. I'm just taking a step forward. "
She watched me in daze, tears glinting in her eyes. She nods her head. She nods her head so many times and says the word again and again.
" Yes... Yes... Yes.. Yes. Yes. "
We exchanged the rings and then i softly kissed her on her cheek.
She holds my face on both her hands and goes on her tiptoe and kisses me on my lips gently.
And then, the celebration after it begins and everyone jumps on the stage to hug us and give their blessings.
