Chapter 19 (PRESENT)

ALESSANDRA'S POV

In the morning, when I returned back to my dorm, Vanessa was waiting with her fangs out to interrogate about my whole existence.

It took half an hour to finally get past her. And then, she rushes me to take shower and get ready.

Once, I had freshened up and ready, she drags me out from our dorm to that old gymnasium behind boy's dormitories. And when we got inside, Ervin and Kaiser were already waiting for us. They had put on a table decorated with flowers, gifts, foods and drinks.

When we came closer, three of them jumps yelling out loudly. " HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALESSA! "

And hugged me around in a circle. I smiled and hugged them all back. Then, I cut the beautiful homemade cake that Kaiser had brought from his home and distributed everyone. It was delicious. We had breakfast together and I was showered with loads and loads of gifts from three of them.

Theo messaged me a sorry text, he said, he had an emergency meeting scheduled at eleven, so, we will be going out, in the later half of the day.

I assured him, that it's absolutely fine before I kept back my cell and joined back my friends.

Vanessa and Kaiser were busy talking when I noticed Ervin quietly leaving the place.

I know that today was might not be the best day to have that conversation with Ervin but I've to tell him at some point. I have to face whatever that comes after once I tell him about Theo.

I have to.

I inform Vanessa that I am outside with Ervin, if she needs me for anything, and walked towards the doors.

When I came outside, I saw Ervin walking towards the old park with slow steps, shrunken shoulders.

He's trying so hard to not to let it show but his body is giving away.

I followed him few steps behind. He hadn't noticed, not until he stood by the edge of the pond and saw my reflection on water, beside him.

" What are you doing here, Red? " He asks looking at my reflection on the water surface.

" Shouldn't I be asking that same question to you? "

A long silence falls over between us. It wasn't uncomfortable, it never had been uncomfortable with him, but the kind of silence that spoke heavy, hurtful words. I couldn't stand silence but somehow with him, I forget everything.

We've known each other for only three years but it never felt like that. I feel I've known him since forever and vice-versa.

" Rin, you don't deserve a disaster like me in your life. You deserve someone who could give all the love in the world to you and I'm not someone who could do that. "

You don't deserve a monster like me.

" I'm more twisted than I look. Find someone else. Find the best for you, Rin. "

I swallow the lump formed in my throat because he maybe still but he looked like he's about to crumble after the storm that's going inside him.

I turned my back. That's what I am Rin, see it yourself. See how less of a human I am.

" Tell Vanessa, I had left, if she asks for me. "

I tell him and walked away and never looked back, not even once.

My steps were steady. I keep walking away, as far as i could from that particular place.

While walking back, my phone buzzed in my pocket. I took it out and without checking the ID, I answered the call.
