POV Lucia:

Vasilia, Olivia, and I went to the back of the bus, Olivia in the middle. I can't begin to tell you how awkward it was as we rode the bus in complete silence. I've always wanted to go on a quest, but this was not what I was expecting. Plus, I still didn't get why Vasillia chose ME to go on her quest. There were a lot of Iris children to choose from.

"Sooooo" I eventually said. "Hi?' Olivia and Vasilia just exchanged looks. Talk about awkwardness. "Ummm, so. Where are we going anyways?"

"Mexico" was all Olivia said. After a couple of more failed attempts to start a conversation, I gave up and hugged Sam.

"They're so rude right?" I whispered to him. "Am I that weird?" Now that I think about it, I guess I am weird, talking to a stuffed animal. Just then, the bus came to an abrupt stop. A monstrous roar came from outside and the world fell into chaos.

People screamed as the bus was flipped upside down by a sudden force and I hit my head on the bus floor. Before I knew what was happening, Vasilia and Olivia were already on their feet, Vasilia holding a dagger and Olivia holding a bow. They ignored me on the floor and ran outside through the shattered glass window. I quickly checked if Sam was okay and followed them outside. What greeted me was this gigantic monster dog thing. It was a dog for sure, if dogs were 10 meters tall and had 3 heads I mean. Grayish brown fur covered its body and face, and its mouth showed laser-sharp fangs that could probably tear a poor innocent demigod into two. And its eyes. It was glowing red, too many were of them, all staring at the two teeny tiny demigods who were trying and failing to attack it.

Vasilia and Olivia were fast, darting and sliding around the monster and attacking it as much as they could. But they were getting tired, and the monster was getting angrier. With one swiping movement one of the monster's fangs got hold of Olivia by her collar, holding her up to the air.

"Let her go!!!" Vasilia shouted, sounding pretty upset. Uh oh. Even though I was never friendly with Vasilia in camp, I knew well that when she was feeling bad, bad things started to happen. Suddenly, a strong gust of wind made the monster lose hold of Olivia and she fell, crumpling to the ground.

"No!" Vasilia ran towards her but was blocked by the monster's ginormous paws. "Do something!!" She yelled at me.

That was when I finally came out of my daze and realized I had to act. I closed my eyes and two long wicked swords appeared in my hands. Tom and Tim, as I liked to call them. I concentrated again and suddenly Vasilia and Olivia disappeared. I knew they weren't gone, it was just the mist. But the monster didn't know that. It looked around, confused, and I took that opportunity to skid up its legs and up to its face. I was about to stab Tim into one of its eyes when I realized Tim would not like that. So I did what I was born to do. I summoned a bright rainbow over the sky. The monster looked up to see the colorful arch and seemed to smile. After all, who hates rainbows? Just then the monster let out a horrifying sound. I realized Vasilia had cut off one of its legs. I stabbed its eye with Tom, she was less picky than Tim, and wouldn't mind stabbing a monster's eye. The monster evaporated into dust, and I, who was 10 meters away from the ground, fell.
