22 March 2013:

Alexander had just exited his office building and was waiting for his driver to bring the car from his personal basement parking. When he heard a scream, more specifically a female's scream.

At first, he ignored it, thinking it to be an illusion but-

"Leave me, You Bastards" He couldn't ignore it further. He followed the voice, clutching the gun kept in his coat pocket tightly. He always keeps it with him for the sake of his safety. He took soft steps, not to create any sound, and hid behind the wall.

He could see her struggling to fight 2 men at the same time. Her face was pale and her shirt was slightly torn. She looked no more than 14. He felt anger surging inside his body.

Other times, he would have waited for his security team but it was a matter of protecting the honor of a girl that too a kid. Without thinking twice, he lunged at one of the men and hit his head with the rod he picked up from an alley, leaving the man unconscious.

Before he could turn to attack the other one, he heard a thud.

The girl whom he had called a kid had knocked a man twice her size and age.

He gave an amused look, "Well done kid."

The girl scowled, "I ain't a kid. I'm Maya, a 15-year-old grown-up girl."

Alex chuckled and patted her head, "Okay then Well done grown-up girl. But What are you doing here alone? It's not the place for you to roam around."

Her face saddened for some reason he didn't know, "It's not my choice to stay here. But it's the only place from where no one can throw me away. But I guess this place is not safe either."

She lowered her head and Alex's heart dropped. He knew this feeling of being homeless, alone, and pitiful. Some will use you to their advantage and will throw you away later on and some will show pity and walk away like nothing happened while the remaining will ignore you.

But for once he wanted to be different from all those people.

Thus, he decided to do something instead of walking away. He decided to give her a home and himself a sister. Something he always wished he had but never got.

"Will you be my sister?"

8 August 2018:

"Alex, I'm back," Maya yelled entering the house. She had some evening classes that day and she had returned home, expecting Alex to be waiting at the dining table but he wasn't there. She frowned and shook her head, "This man, Must be still working." She whispered to herself and made her way to Alex's home office to confront him.

She knocked at the door, not to look like a brat in front of the visitors if any. She heard a low, "Come in" and entered his office opening the door wide. No one was inside except Alex and his secretary Mr. Michael John, a man in his mid-twenties same age as Alex.

He has been working with Alex from the time he started his company i.e. his initial struggle days. Both of them were best friends and her partner in crime.

Michael smiled warmly at her," Hi! Partner." Maya grinned, forgetting the job she was there for. "Hi Mic" She gave him a long hug and asked pulling back, "How are you? It's been so long since I saw you." She pouted and Alex rolled his eyes, "He was gone for only a week. Not a whole century that you are acting this way."

"Still it's a WHOLE WEEK."

"Don't mind him, Partner. He's just jealous that you hugged me first and not him."

Maya and Mic nodded while Alex scoffed, " As if."

In reality, he was jealous. She was his sister after all.
