Reva knocked on his cabin's door and opened it when she heard a faint 'come in' from the other side. She walk to his desk, took  out the envelope from behind and quietly keep it on his desk. Alec glanced at the envelope and asked," What is it, Ms. Agarwal?"

"My resignation letter." He suppressed the urge to snap his head towards her and look up slowly at her ," Then give it to HR and not to me." His voice was calm and yet she felt chills running down her veins. She looked at him with disbelief in her eyes. Yes this man was as cold as Antarctica and never showed his emotions but his nonchalant attitude towards her resignation felt weird. As if he knew that she was leaving. 'Did HR told him already?' She thought

"Uhm, I actually gave it to them a month ago and today is the last day of my notice period."

So, this was just a formality.

He nodded indifferently without looking up from his file and Reva turned to go back to her cabin to collect her stuff and leave.

"Where do you think you are going?" She turned hearing his commanding voice and gave him a confused look.

"To collect my stuff and leave."

"Your period hasn't ended yet. You still an hour for the day to end. Go make a cup of coffee." Reva quickly concealed her glare behind a smile. Anger bubbled inside her body and she wanted to do nothing but poison his coffee at the moment. He even wanted her to work at the last moment.

What an Asshole.

Let her leave early was the least he could after the two torturous year of working as his assistant.

"Okay sir." The tight lipped smile she gave him made him almost chuckle. Almost

He watched her leaving his cabin and picked up the cell.

"Why wasn't I informed about the resignation of my assistant?" His thunderous voice scared the shit out of the HR head.

"S- Sir, Y-You never before cared about your assistant. So, I thought." He stuttered.

"You thought that its not important to tell me about this."

Alec fisted his hand tightly around the cell and calmed his breadths, "Find me a new assistant according to the job preferences."

"Yes sir." Ronan, the HR Head immediately stated.

"And Mr. Ronan, find yourself a new job too." He kept the phone down.

He picked her resignation letter and raked his fingers on her name written on the envelope.

"You think you can leave me that easily. Tsk, Tsk, Tsk. Not now. Not ever." He tore the paper into several pieces and threw it inside the bin, furiously.

Minutes later, she entered the office after he allowed her to and kept the coffee on his table.

"Anything else, Sir." She asked with  the fake sweetness. "You." He answered before taking a sip of his coffee.

"What?"

"I mean, you can leave. I don't need anything."

Reva muttered 'weird' under her breadth and walked out of the office.

As clock struck 5, he saw her standing up from her seat through the glass window but instead of coming to his office to inform him about her leaving like she would usually do, she picked the box with her stuff inside and directly went to the elevator to leave.

'She didn't even care to say Goodbye.' He thought.  But his mind immediately mocked him. 'As if you cared  to say anything sensible when she practically threw the resignation at you.'

That day, Alec returned home early. He took a shower. He had his dinner and laid on his bed. he kept his head on his arm and stared at ceiling, calculating his next moves.

Next morning, he got a call the moment he entered the office. It was the private investigator he had hired to found the details about his assi- ex assistant.

"Yes?" He asked.

"Sir, Mam she disappeared." His eyes widened.

"What do you mean she disappeared? "

"She left the country. Last night, she was seen entering a cab by the security guard outside her building with a suitcase and handbag. When I asked the driver, he said that he dropped her at the airport. According to her bank details, she booked a flight to India."
