DOWNING another shot with Meredith, Aaliyah groaned. The Valentine woman had already previously been drinking an hour before she practically pulled Meredith away from Derek. Still, now that her friend was utterly heartbroken, she brought the bottle so the two could drown their sorrows together.

"You two look familiar, you guys been here before?" The bartender asked as he took the two's empty shot glasses.

"Once," Meredith answered as she took another shot, "that worked out really well,"

"Yeah, I met my– um, yeah, I've been here before," Aaliyah said, not wanting to bring up Jasper while her friend was dealing with her feelings.

"I know that look. Can be only one of two things" The bartender said, giving Meredith a sad smile, pouring a double shot he gave it to the girls, "either your boss is giving you hell, or your boyfriend is, which is it?"

Drunkenly gasping, Aaliyah lightly hits the bartender's hand, "Now, what if she wasn't straight? Why does everyone automatically go and assume a pretty girl, such as M has a boyfriend? What if it was a girl who shattered my friend's heart on a Tuesday night, leaving us to drink the pain away?" Aaliyah drunkenly rambles.

"Both," Meredith answered, ignoring Aaliyah's mini-rant, playing with her napkin; she looked at the bartender before looking away, "my boyfriend is my boss, which was a problem, but not as big a problem as the fact my boyfriend has a wife,"

Looking at her friend sadly, reaching over the bar, she smiled at the bartender as she poured herself and Meredith another shot. Instantly downing the shot, Meredith gave Aaliyah a sad smile.

"Fuck Derek," Aaliyah said, rolling her eyes, "you're like so fucking hot and sexy, and fuck that lady too– wait, I shouldn't have said that she was cheated on too." Frowning, Aaliyah hugged Meredith, "I could beat her up if you want; I'm real scrappy,"

Chuckling at her friend's antics, she hugged Aaliyah tight; releasing her from the hug, Meredith gave a small smile, "You don't have to beat her up, Liyah"

"But I can," Aaliyah says with a grin, "I could probably beat up Derek too, well actually, maybe I gotta jump him,"

Hugging Aaliyah tightly again, Meredith sighs; pulling from the hug, she holds Aaliyah's hands, "You know, when I first met you, I didn't think we would get along,  but in the short time knowing you, all I can really say is I love you Aaliyah, you and Cristina are like the sister's I never had,"

"Please don't make me cry; you know I'm drunk," Aaliyah tells Meredith, using the napkin to dab up her imaginary tears. Laughing, the two down another shot before they turned around and saw George and Cristina walking in.

"All hail the champ," A random guy called out, roughly patting George on the chest, causing him to stumble. Cheers erupted around the bar as the two made their way to Aaliyah and Meredith, "So my guy Alex finally got what was comin' to him?"

"George knocked him down in one punch; you shoulda seen it," Cristina egged on as she took off her jacket.

"I don't want to talk about it," George told the two, taking the seat beside Aaliyah.

"Brag, champ, brag. You've earned it," The bartender cut in as he polished a glass.

"Can I have a beer?" George pleaded as he glanced at Aaliyah, who was in the middle, Meredith at her right, and Cristina next to her.

"Let's play a game of whose life sucks the most," Meredith announced as she threw a peanut in her mouth, "I'll win. I always win"

"That doesn't sound very fun," Aaliyah mumbled, playing with the rim of her glass.
