The next afternoon on June 14th, 7 days till the summer solstice and their train pulled into Denver. They hadn't eaten or showered in a while. Theadora and Percy's faces were plastered on posters because they torched a national monument.
"Let's try contact Chiron" Annabeth suggested "we can tell him about the water spirit"
"I thought we couldn't use cell phones"
"We aren't using a phone Jackson."
They wandered around for half an hour, Percy overheard Theadora and Annabeth mutter stuff about the rainbow, a mirror and water. It was warm and humid so Percy doubted they would be able to get access to water.
Finally they passed a do it yourself car wash, and went towards the furthest stall from the road, keeping an eye out for cars. They were three teens at a car wash with no car.
"What are we doing" Percy asked as Grover pulled out the spray gun and Theadora looked through her bag.
"Anyone got two quarters?" Grover asked and Percy handed him the money
"What are we doing?" He asked again
"I-M'ing" Annabeth told him
"Instant messaging" he questioned
"Iris-messaging" Theadora corrected "the rainbow goddess carries messages, normally you need drachmas" she pulled out her mirror "but we don't"
Theadora held the mirror out while Grover sprayed it and a rainbow projected from it creating a golden shimmer. "Show me, Camp half blood" Theadora requested
It took a moment but an image of half blood hill appeared, the strawberry fields in the distance, the image was on big house porch, there was a boy with sandy hair, shorts and an orange top.
"Luke" Theadora called. He turned around to have the mist, "Thea!"he grinned "Percy, Annie, Grover, thank the gods your alive. You alright?"
"Uh we're fine" she stammered fixing her appearance by straightening her t-shirt and combing the loose hair out her face. "We thought...Chiron"
"Oh he's down at the cabins" His smile faded "there has been issues with the other campers"
"Issues?" Grover asked, just then a car pulled into the car wash blasting music so loud that the pavement shook
"Chiron had to-what's that noise" he shouted
"I'll sort it"Annabeth shouted back "come on Grover"
The two walked away to deal with the noise while Theadora and Percy shuffled to be out of sight. "So what happened?" The brunette asked
"Things have been tense, word leaked out about Zeus-Poseidon war thing, then there's the hellhound summoning, some people are trying to blame Thea. Everyone is taking sides, it's like Trojan war. Aphrodite, Ares and Apollo are backing up Poseidon while Athena is backing up Zeus."
Percy shuddered at the thought of Clarisse's cabin being on his side, while the mysic increased but so did Annabeth's shouting in the next stall. The duo filled Luke in on all the details so far and the monsters they ran into.
"Hey it's probably Hades who took the bolt, he was on Olympus and he had his helm of darkness, no offence Thea"
"None taken, I'm used to it." The car in the stall rolled away "we gave to go"
