"touch me and you'll never be alone."

Your very first day at UA High. What better way to spend your time than teaching a bunch of high school students how to do your job?

Well, there were a lot of better ways you could be spending your time, but that's not the point.

The fact of the matter is that you were at UA right now, and you had to get to know your students.

You got to have your own classroom, unlike the other teachers who would switch classrooms throughout the day.

Mostly because you had agreed to teaching both heroics and home economics.

Given that, you decided to dedicate the day before school started to decorating your classroom.

Which proved to be at least a little bit difficult considering you quite literally had multiple kitchen sets in the back of your classroom.

You had string lights across the ceiling so that both you and your students wouldn't have to deal with the bright white lighting that the actual lights gave off.

Along with that, you thought it would be a good idea to buy cushions for the seats.

So, you did.

You wanted your classroom to be as comforting and homey as possible, even if you were only going to be there for one school year.

The first day of school came, and your students were beginning to file into your homeroom.

You took it upon yourself to greet every single one of them with a smile, letting them know that they could pick where they sat.

As the first bell rang and everyone got into their seats, you started going through attendance.

"Alright, welcome to your first day!" You say, sitting on a stool in the front of the classroom. "I know that this whole thing can be nerve wracking, but I can assure you that it won't be nearly as bad as you think. It's my first day too! You can all grab a piece of paper from the front table and some markers, and I'd like for you all to write down whatever name you want me to call you on your nametag."

You watch as everyone gets up, walking to the front of the room to grab their supplies.

You never exactly enjoyed school growing up, so you wanted to give these kids the best experience possible.

You were set to only have your homeroom and then home ec right after lunch, and you didn't even have classes some days. Regardless, you felt like you were doing a pretty decent job so far.

At least you hoped you were. You couldn't exactly tell with how silent everyone was, but you just took that as them being nervous.

When you were their age, you were always quiet like that too.

But that could also be due to the fact that you were already in an orphanage at that point.

You ended up making your way to the teacher's lounge, seeing only a few other teachers in the room.

You didn't get a chance to meet any of the teachers while you were setting up your classroom, so you figured now might be a good time to do that.

You were just going to go over to whoever you thought had the friendliest face.

And while you didn't know it at the time, that friendly face would become your closest friend during your time in Japan.

Walking over to a green haired boy, you wave to him with a smile, "Hi, I'm (y/n)! I'm teaching heroics and home ec this year."

"Oh, so you're the new teacher!" He says, returning your smile, "My name is Izuku Midoriya, I'm teaching the other heroics class."

"Really? We should set up combined training for our classes!" You tell him.

It seemed that both you and him were very energetic, but for some reason you were drawn to him.

Maybe it was his smile, how pretty his eyes were and how they lit up when you started talking to him.

You couldn't tell, but it was like you were a moth to a flame.

"Definitely. It'll help them get to know each other better, too."

"Speaking of which, I fell like we should get to know each other better if we're gonna be teaching classes together." You suggest. "How about we go out for some drinks tonight? It'll be on me, of course. But I wanna have a good amount of time to get to know you outside of school."

Why you were offering to go out for drinks with a man you just met only two minutes ago? You had no clue.

Just like your mom, you wanted to build good relationships with the people you were going to be working with.

That had to be what this was.

Definitely not an excuse to see him even more.

"Sounds good to me. You don't have to pay, though. I wouldn't want to make you pay for my drinks."

"I want to pay! Trust me, I'm totally fine with paying for you."

"Are you sure? Because I don't-"

"I'm sure! I'll see you later, I have to go teach my next class."

Feeling somewhat accomplished with making a new friend on your first day, you went back to your classroom.

This time, though, you got to have a bit of fun with your class.

It was the same group of students that you had for homeroom, so you didn't have to make them make nametags or anything like that.

Instead, you just let them play kahoot and win candy.

Mostly because the only thing you could think about was how you got to go out for drinks later with a gorgeous man that you would be working with for this whole year.

But in the back of your mind, this wasn't a good idea at all.

You knew that you were going to get way too attached to your friends in Japan, then you would have to move back to America in a little less than a year.

But at the same time, your heart was telling you to go for it.

You could always come back to Japan to visit them, you could call them, you could get them plane tickets to come to America, anything that you wanted to do you could.

So, you were going to follow your heart and not your head this time.

Maybe it would even lead to something better than you could've imagined.
