"i remember it all too well."
Sitting on the edge of your bed, you were contemplating whether or not you should even get up and go to work.
You kissed your coworker last night when you were both drunk, and now you were going to have to go to work and see him.
But alas, you couldn't skip when it was only your second day.
One week in Japan and you were already kissing your coworker in a bar. Amazing.
So, you got out of bed and got ready for work.
Aside from the fact that you were now dreading seeing Midoriya, you hated the fact that you had to wear your hero costume all day every day.
Seeing as you had to were still patrolling and going on missions for your base in Japan, you had to wear it after school some days too.
But you knew there was no getting out of it, so you just had to suck it up.
After around thirty minutes of driving, you were in the teacher parking lot walking towards the school.
Of course, Midoriya just had to be there.
"(y/n), good morning!" He says, waving to you with a smile.
How was he acting like nothing happened last night?
You remembered the whole thing vividly, but it seemed like he didn't.
Because he really didn't.
You didn't know it at the time, but he had a pretty low tolerance for alcohol. Whenever he got drunk, he wouldn't remember anything he did.
"Morning, Midoriya." You respond, trying to at least smile back at him.
He continues walking by your side towards the school, "What do you have planned for hero lessons today? I think that Mr. Aizawa is doing a Quirk apprehension test today."
"I didn't really have anything planned yet, so I might just take my class to another gym to do the same thing." As you reach the door, you take out your badge, scanning it and unlocking the door.
You were still extremely confused.
How was he just gonna act like he didn't kiss you not even a whole day ago?
You two went your separate ways, you going to your classroom and him going to his.
Some of your students were already in their seats, talking amongst themselves while you sat at your desk.
As soon as the bell rang, you took your class to one of the gyms that you thought would be open.
Lo and behold, Midoriya brought his class to the same. Exact. Gym.
It was like the universe was against you right now.
First you kiss the man in a bar, then you try to avoid him even though he's acting like nothing happened, and now he brought his class to the same gym as you.
At this point, it couldn't just be a coincidence.
"Hey, Midoriya." You say, walking over to him with the best smile you could work up. "Do you want me to take my class to another gym?"
"No, no, it's fine. We could always just do the test together. If that's fine with you, of course."
"Yeah, that sounds good." You tell him, then turn to face your students, "Guys, we're staying here! Go line up!"
Eight tests.
50-meter dash, grip strength, standing long jump, repeated side steps, ball throw, distance run, seated toe-touch, and sit-ups.
It seemed simple in theory, only a few tests to see how your students' Quirks worked in different situations.
It would be simple if it wasn't forty kids being tested at once.
"How are we going to get this done? We have forty students, and only fifty minutes before and after lunch. Let's say it takes at least one minute per test per student, then that's already 320 minutes. That's almost four hours, which we obviously don't have." You question, looking at Midoriya.
You never did anything like this at your school back home, so you weren't aware of how it worked.
Midoriya, on the other hand, had to do this on his first day of high school with Mr. Aizawa.
He lets out a small chuckle, "Trust me, we'll get it done. Tests like the 50-meter dash and the standing long jump will take less time than things like the distance run. We should be able to get through at least the first four tests before lunch."
You were feeling a bit more hopeful after hearing that.
And they did. Both of your classes made it through the first four tests before the bell for lunch rang, even if it was just barely.
Which also meant that you and Midoriya could go to the teacher's lounge.
Not that you really wanted to right now after what happened last night.
But it's not like it meant anything, right?
So why should it matter? It didn't mean anything.
You were sitting at your desktop in the teacher's lounge, trying to get some work done for your agency.
While you most definitely had confidence in your agency in America running just fine without you actually present, it seemed as if the crime rate was increasing just without you being there.
You had at least one hundred sidekicks working for you at you agency, but it almost seemed as if it wasn't enough.
You had been answering emails, phone calls, and writing up documents all week, and it was getting to be exhausting.
And even though he only met you yesterday, Midoriya seemed to be picking up on your stress.
"You okay?" He asks, sitting down at his desk that just so happened to be next to yours, "You've seemed a bit stressed all morning."
It wasn't just everything going on in your home country, but it was also what happened last night.
You couldn't say that, though.
"I'm fine, just have a lot going on at my agency. I'll be going back this weekend, but I think I might need to hire some more sidekicks since I'm not there full-time." You explain to him, speaking while not once taking your eyes off of the screen. "And I'm still technically on call at home. I have to be able to drop everything in a moment's notice to go back if they really need me."
"I'm sure it'll work out." He tries reassuring you, "With how many heroes there are in America, I doubt it'll get to that point."
You could at least hope that it wouldn't get to that point.
author's note: i can't for the life of me decide what the hero costume should look like so i can't write it into the story. please give any suggestions you may have!!
