"i don't wanna need you this way."

You felt like you were back to square one with Izuku. Of course, he didn't feel the same way at all, but you did.

It was already in the media that multiple top heroes were spotted leaving your house this morning.

You knew what came with being famous, and you absolutely loved your fans, but you hated the media.

Well, you didn't hate the media. Not all of it, at least.

You were absolutely fine with the reporters and photographers that were respectfully towards you.

It was the ones that would make up stories or literally wait outside of your house to see you every day that got on your nerves.

The only reason why you weren't completely hating life right now was because Izuku was still at your house.

He decided to stay after everyone else left, helped you clean up, and even made you pancakes and a smoothie for breakfast.

He was sweet, that was for sure. But you didn't understand why he was treating what you two were doing like it was no big deal.

You thought it was a huge deal to be kissing someone.

Maybe it was because of your last boyfriend.

He would get you these extravagant gifts, introduced you to his family after only a month of dating you, and even moved in with you just a few weeks later.

But with that came treating you badly immediately following him praising you so much that you felt like you were the best person in the world, yelling at you whenever you did something wrong, and acting like everything you had wasn't a big deal.

Long story short, he was love bombing you.

He was the only boy you had an actual relationship with, and it ended up terribly.

He didn't even break up with you in person.

He just left one morning, taking all of his stuff with him and leaving you a note that said as follows:

"(y/n), sorry, but you just weren't enough for me anymore. I'm breaking up with you, and I've already blocked you, so don't bother trying to contact me."

Yeah. It was bad.

"(y/n), can we talk?" Izuku asks you, walking over to you and tucking a piece of hair behind your ear.

You look up at him, "I don't want Marley to hear us."

"She won't. She just got in the shower."

You reluctantly agreed to having this dreaded conversation, sitting down on the couch with him and waiting for him to speak up.

It's not like you really had anything to say right now.

He was the one who wanted to have this talk with you, so it was only right for him to start it off.

"I'm sorry for making you cry."

"How'd you know that I cried?"

"Marley told me." He says, "I didn't mean to upset you. If you don't mind me asking, what was it that I said to make you so upset?"

Of course Marley told him.

And now you were the one that was gonna have to talk about this with Izuku. All because Marley couldn't keep her mouth shut.

"If I'm being totally honest, I don't like how you're treating us kissing multiple times now and then sharing a bed like it's nothing. It sounds stupid, I know."

"No, it doesn't sound stupid at all. Is it because I said it's not like we're actually in a relationship?"

Obviously the answer to that question was gonna be yes. What else would he have said that would be that bothersome to you?

"Yeah, it was." You admit. As much as you didn't want to be having this conversation right now, you were an adult. You could have adult conversations.

"But we aren't in a relationship. Even if we aren't in a relationship, I'm not gonna go around kissing other women. We've only known each other for a few weeks."

"I know that we aren't in a relationship, Izuku." You sigh, "Obviously I know that much."

"You have to understand that if we're gonna be in a relationship, I wanna do it the right way. I'd rather take it slow and be able to ease our way into dating rather than just jumping right into it."

The only long relationship you had was with your last boyfriend. He met you at a Halloween party and he asked you out right then and there.

You started dating him literally the night after you met him.

He seemed eager to start a relationship with you, and from what you knew, he was an extremely kind person.

To put it bluntly, he wasn't actually that way.

"But then why have we already kissed multiple times? Don't you only do that when you're in a relationship with someone?"

"Not necessarily." He starts to explain, "Actually, I think that most people kiss each other a few times before starting to date. But that's not the point. My point here is that I want you to trust me when I tell you that just because we're not in a relationship yet doesn't mean that I didn't mean what I said or did last night. Or the first time we went to the bar together."

The first time you went to the bar together.

He actually fucking remembered this whole time.

You had been under the assumption that since he didn't say anything to you about it that he didn't remember.

But he did remember. Actually, he had been thinking about it ever since it happened.

Since that kiss came so naturally at the bar that night, he figured that he didn't have to bring it up since it wasn't like it was something awkward.

He speaks up once again, "I meant it when I kissed you, and I meant it when I told you that I like you. I wouldn't lie about something like that."

"You promise you actually like me?"

"I promise. I like you more than you'll ever know."

More than you'll ever know.
