Mackenzie POV
Bluey: What?!
Mackenzie: Hey Bluey. I've been meaning to talk to you about this.
Bluey: What do you mean?
Mackenzie: Well. *breathes in* I need to stay here in Auckland for a few days.
Bluey: WHAT?!
Mackenzie: Bluey, can you say anything other than "what"?
Bluey: How do you expect me not to?!
Mackenzie: You heard what I said.
Bluey: I just want you to repeat it so that I know if you're fucking with me or not!
Mackenzie: Well of course I am... but I'm not lying.
Bluey: Forget that Mackenzie. Why are you staying here?
Mackenzie: Well, it's something... I... I can't say it here in front of the kids.
Bluey: Ok, well then whisper it to me.
Mackenzie: *whispers in her ear* My grandmother passed away a month ago, and her funeral is here in two days.
Bluey: Oh, Mark... I'm so sorry.
Mackenzie: It's fine, I've had a month to mourn, but now I just need to be here and visit the rest of my family, like my aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Bluey: Alright. But why haven't you told the kids?
Mackenzie: Because the last time they met her was the first time they met her, back when Olivia was in diapers and Charlotte was just born.Bluey: That's not an excuse.
Mackenzie: Let's be honest Bluey, the kids probably didn't even know they had a great grandmother.
Bluey: But that's not where we're finishing off here. I was going on this trip hoping to spend a wonderful anniversary with the man I married, but instead you're leaving me to stay in New Zealand?!
Mackenzie: You think I wanted this to happen?! My grandmother meant everything to me! She was everything that I needed and more growing up... but... but now...
Bluey: *feels guilty* Oh. I'm sorry for giving you a hard time Mackenzie.
Mackenzie: It's fine. I know you just want to spend the anniversary with me, and I think that's really sweet of you.
Bluey: When will you be back?
Mackenzie: Not until Tuesday.
Bluey: Ok, that's not too bad.
Mackenzie: Do you think you can handle watching the kids while I'm gone?
Bluey: Excuse you, bitch?!
Mackenzie: Huh?
Bluey: I'm the one who birthed two thirds of them into this world and you're asking me if I can handle watching them?
Mackenzie: Yeah?
Bluey: You know what? You can spend all the time you want here, because when you return home, the door will be locked with a poster of your face with a bounty underneath it.
Mackenzie: Wow, that question really hurt you did it?
Bluey: Yeah, kinda. *on the verge of laughing*
Mackenzie: *laughs along with Bluey* Wow, that was good.
Bluey: *still laughing* Yeah. *stops laughing and grabs him by the scruff of his neck and glares him deep in the eyes* But I'm telling you. I can handle it.
