Hope is being able to see that there is light despite all of the darkness.
- Desmond Tutu
Cynthia came to a stop by the burned-out bridge as she surveyed her surroundings. Popping the stand on her bike she got off.
There had been time to kill after the girls had come up with their plan. On the one hand, Cynthia could have gone in search of Sky, but that felt like a bad idea. She knew that Sky would not agree with what she was doing, and she was not willing to put him in that situation.
Instead, she had gone ahead of the girls so she could have a look at where it was all going to go, so she could better understand her surroundings and thus be better prepared.
Cynthia started by exploring the bridge. Marking out hiding places and backup plans. From there, she headed north, following the diversion that the transport would take now that they couldn't go on the bridge.
She followed it as far as she could before she needed to turn back so as not to be late to meet the girls.
Cynthia ended up arriving just before them and was there in time to watch the blue Volvo. Pull in.
The only issue? She couldn't see Stella anywhere.
Cynthia hoped that maybe, just maybe, Stella was invisible. Maybe to prove she could, maybe because she didn't want to be seen with the others. But based on the other girls' faces, Cynthia knew this wasn't the case.
"What if I bloom a bunch of pollen and give all the guards allergy attacks?" Cynthia could hear Terra asking as she stepped out of the car. "Okay, no, ignore that. That wouldn't work." Terre went on, something told Cynthia this has been going on since they found out Stella wasn't coming. "Okay, no, wait, I've got another. No, wait. This is good, okay. Or, um... No, this is good. What if Aisha makes them all need to pee at the same time? Brill!"
"No bad ideas in brainstorming, but maybe a breath." Musa coached Terra.
"Where, Stella?" Cynthia questioned as she approached the girls.
"Stella was a no-show," Musa told her as they gathered around the car
"I'll make sure there's not another way to cross the river," Bloom stated before heading off. Cynthia knew there wasn't another way to cross the river, and some suspicious substance she needed to get to Terra. But that could all wait. First, she needed to get to Aisha and come up with a new plan with her.
"Holograms," Terra explained. "What if we use holograms? You and Bloom could create a mirage and..."
"Can you just stop? Please." Aisha snapped. "Our first plan was good. We don't have time to come up with another."
Cynthia watched as Musa dodged around the car, reaching out a hand to Aisha. "It's okay. You got this."
"I'm gonna take a look at the maps," Aisha stated as she rounded the car and sat in the boot.
