Kai's eyes fluttered open, the sterile scent of antiseptic filling his nostrils. He lay on a cold, metal-framed bed, the thin hospital gown clinging to his skin. The room was dimly lit, the flickering fluorescent lights casting eerie shadows on the cracked, peeling walls. He could hear the distant hum of machinery, but the hospital seemed eerily quiet, almost abandoned.
As he sat up, Kai's head throbbed with confusion. The last thing he remembered was a blinding light and a cacophony of sounds. Now, he found himself in a place that felt both familiar and alien. He swung his legs over the side of the bed, his bare feet touching the cold, tiled floor. The room was sparse, with only a few pieces of outdated medical equipment and a single, grimy window that offered a view of a cityscape bathed in the golden hues of a setting sun.
Kai 's glance caught his breath clutching in his throat as he took in the sight of Los Angeles in 1978. The city was a sprawling maze of concrete and steel, with towering skyscrapers and bustling streets. But something was off. The streets below were eerily empty, devoid of the usual hustle and bustle. It was as if the city had been frozen in time, abandoned by its inhabitants.
He turned away from the window, his mind racing. How had he ended up here? And why was he C? As he wandered through the empty corridors, the silence was deafening. The walls were adorned with faded posters and outdated medical charts, remnants of a time long past. He passed by empty patient rooms, their beds neatly made but untouched, as if waiting for occupants who would never return.
In the distance, Kai heard a faint sound, like the echo of footsteps. He followed the noise, his heart pounding in his chest. The sound led him to a large, double-door entrance marked "Emergency Room." He pushed the doors open, the hinges creaking in protest. Inside, the room was a chaotic mess of overturned gurneys and scattered medical supplies. It was clear that something had happened here, something that had caused the hospital to be abandoned in haste.
As he stood in the middle of the room, Kai felt a sense of unease wash over him. He was alone in a city that seemed to have forgotten him, in a hospital that held more questions than answers. But he knew he couldn't stay here. He had to find out what had happened, and why he had been left behind.
With a determined look in his eyes, Kai turned and walked out of the emergency room, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead in this strange, abandoned world.
