The morning sun cast a golden hue over the sprawling campus of Advanced Nurturing High School. It would have been a good day had the atmosphere within the classroom of the so-called 'Defect class' not been so damn gloomy. It was the start of the next month, and the students were still reeling from the shock of their point deductions.
Their homeroom teacher, Sae Chabashira, ruthlessly explained the point system and how none of her students had understood the hidden costs associated with the points. She ended her tirade by calling them all idiots. The classroom fell into stunned silence, with students exchanging uncertain glances and whispered speculations.
Suddenly, a voice shattered the tension. "Sensei, why do you have such a stick up your ass?" Suzune Horikita leaned back in her chair, a provocative smirk on her lips. The audacity of her comment left the class in collective shock, gasps echoing around the room.
Chabashira's eyes narrowed, and her brow twitched in annoyance. "Horikita, I do not need you to be you right now." She warned with a slight growl. Dealing with another set of defective students was bad enough; enduring Suzune's...Suzuneness for the past month was pushing her patience to its limit.
Suzune's lips curled into a smirk. "Just trying to lighten the mood. It's not like we're getting anywhere with the way things are going."
The class fell into an uneasy silence as Chabashira struggled to maintain her composure. Suzune, however, wasn't done yet. Leaning forward dramatically, she addressed the room with a mischievous glint in her eye.
"Look, if we're going to be stuck in this mess, we might as well have some fun with it. Why not make the best of our situation? So, how about we play a little game, yeah? A little class game!" she suggested.
The classroom buzzed with murmurs of confusion and curiosity as Suzune's proposal hung in the air. Students exchanged hesitant glances, unsure if they should indulge in her unexpected suggestion.
Chabashira sighed heavily, clearly exasperated. "Horikita, now is not the time for games—"
She was cut off as Suzune fast-walked to the front of the class and audaciously shushed her. "Hush, hush, Sensei. I'm taking the stage here." An annoyed tick mark appeared on Chabashira's forehead. "Don't you dare shush me!" she scolded harshly with a glare, aghast and baffled by Suzune's audacity.
Unfazed by Chabashira's outburst, Suzune turned to face the class with a dramatic flourish, gesturing as if about to deliver a grand performance. "Alright, everyone! Let's break the ice with a little fun, shall we? Because if we're going down, we might as well do it with style!"
The students, still reeling from the shock of her audacious shushing of the teacher, couldn't help but be drawn into Suzune's infectious enthusiasm. A few chuckles and murmurs of interest spread through the room.
Chabashira, her patience wearing thin, crossed her arms and fixed Suzune with a stern glare. "Horikita, this is your last warning. If you disrupt the class again—"
Suzune held up a finger inches to her lips in a conspiratorial gesture, much to Chabashira's own bewilderment. "Sensei, sensei... let's not ruin the fun. Just sit back and enjoy the show."
With an enthusiastic grin, Suzune clapped her hands to get everyone's attention. "Now, we are going to be playing a lil' American mini-game we can play as a class. It's called 'Hangman'!"
Suzune's announcement was met with a mix of amusement and confusion. "Hangman?" Mii-chan repeated, raising an eyebrow in curiosity.
"Yes, Hangman!" Suzune confirmed with a bright, almost mischievous smile. "It's simple, it's fun, and it's educational. I mean, who doesn't love a good guessing game, hm~?"
