Lieta's POV:

"You excited for them to finally take the bandage off?" Grayson asked, snuggled into my chest.

We were laying in bed and it was late morning. My appointment with the doctor was mid afternoon and they were planning on finally taking my bandage off. The surgery had been successful, after the glass was removed the pain had left my eye and I was feeling fine.

Grayson was being terribly supportive and I couldn't thank him enough. I was honestly terrified of getting my bandage removed, as it meant I'd finally see the aftermath of the explosion. They had said I'd still be able to open my eye, just not see out of it anymore.

"Not really." I spoke quietly, as Grayson looked up at me.

"You hate the bandage." He replied incredulously.

"I know." I said quietly. Grayson raised an eyebrow, pushing a strand of hair behind my ear.

"You'll need to explain your thought process, my love." He told me. I sighed and buried my face into his hair.

For a moment I didn't say anything, hoping I'd disappear and not have to answer. Though as that time never came, I finally looked back down at him.

"I'm going to look different. I'll look terrible." I stated, as Grayson furrowed his eyebrows.

"You're not going to look terrible, Lieta." He spoke, making me sigh.

"But I won't be the same girl you fell in love with." I sighed, making him shake his head.

"You're the same person, Lieta. A blind eye won't make me change my mind about you." He explained, making my stomach do a flip.

"You're a sweetheart, but I'm scared, Gray." I replied.

He sighed and carefully sat up, once he was against the headboard, he pulled me up and into his chest. Grayson wrapped his arms tightly around me, stroking his fingers through my hair.

"You'll look gorgeous. It'll be a unique feature." He reasoned, though I still had my doubts.

"I know they're beautiful, I just can't accept it on me."

"That's the concept of insecurities, love." Grayson continued twirling my hair between his fingers.

"Don't start blaming me for being insecure." I muttered, as he shook his head.

"That's not what I'm trying to do. If anything, it's my job to help you love them." He smiled and kissed the top of my head.

"You're amazing." I sighed and nuzzled my face into his top. Somehow I'd learn to love my new face.

"Alright, now if you could open your eye. I'm going to shine this light into it." The doctor spoke and let me open my left eye for the first time.

I wasn't shocked when I ended up not seeing anything. My blindness was in the low percentile of people who saw only complete darkness. However it still hurt. Just knowing there was nothing I could do about it upset me terribly.

"Looks like it's healed well. You won't need a bandage anymore." He smiled, though a sympathetic one.

"What's it look like?" I questioned, as Grayson looked towards me, his head poised on his hand.

He tilted his head and smiled. One of the warmest smiles I had ever seen on him, almost a gleam of admiration behind his eyes, though I'm sure my mind was lying. It couldn't be what he was thinking in this moment.

"A cloudy grey. Not bright white like you expected, it's a little more blue." He spoke, staring at me intently.

"Most eyes don't go completely white. Of course it's possible, but it's more likely they cloud over and have a slight tint of colour left over." The doctor nodded and stood, placing the light onto his table.

"I'll see you for a check up in around three months to make sure it's still alright, after that you'll be fine and only have to come in if you're having problems." He explained and let us get up to leave.

"Thank you very much." I looked towards him. The doctor only nodded and held the door open.

"I'll see you in three months." He spoke and watched Grayson and I leave the room.

"How bad is it?" I questioned, after the doctor had closed the door and we made our way down the hallway.

"Not at all, Li." Grayson stated and grasped my hand.

"What does cloudy blue even mean?" I questioned. Grayson pulled out his phone and turned it on, clicking the camera.

"This is what I mean." He spoke, showing me my eye through the lens.

I didn't know whether I liked or disliked it. It was different and one thing I was not made for was change. My eye didn't look as bad as I had expected it to look, but it wasn't exactly something I wanted to have in my face either.

"Stop judging yourself." Grayson spoke, as he pocketed his phone.

"I'm not sure I like it." I said honestly.

Grayson squeezed my hand, stopping in front of the car he had driven us to the doctor's in. His hand landed on my shoulder, as he turned me back towards himself, so that we were now standing in front of each other rather than side to side.

"Maybe not yet, but you'll like it eventually. Trust me, my love, you look entrancing." He spoke, making me blush.

"Entrancing is a fancy word." I answered, making him let out a chuckle.

"Then let's go with beautiful." Grayson smiled and tilted my head up, placing his lips to mine. I let him distract, like I always did. One thing Grayson Hawthorne knew how to be was distracting.

"Has anyone seen Soufflé?" I questioned, walking into the kitchen.

"Haven't seen her, Li. How's the eye?" Avery turned, looking at me intently.

"Fine, it's healed well." I replied and headed towards the fridge, knocking my left hip with the counter.

I yelped, as the pain shot through my side.

"Looks like you still need to get your spacial awareness back." Nash said to me, a chuckle leaving his lips.

"Oh shut up." I muttered and made my way further to the fridge.

I grabbed the orange juice and poured myself a glass, trying to pour the drink correctly. It took me longer than usual, though I luckily didn't spill anything.

"This is ridiculous." I muttered annoyed and grabbed the glass, making my way out of the kitchen.

"You alright, Lieta?" Grayson walked after me, as I nodded.

"I'm fine, Gray." I spoke and grasped his hand, once he was within range.

"Good, now I was thinking. Baby blue might look very nice on you, especially now." He spoke, making me groan but with a laugh.

Grayson always thought of fashion statements. Another thing he was good at, was making sure I felt pretty.
